Awesome headset. Very strong presentation off the bat; I'm more used to headsets with adjustable earpieces, but this one has an elastic strap that contours the head gently, and offers perfect support. Each part is manufactured beautifully, so that the construction and assembly of the piece itself is part of the visual presentation. This includes the touches of highlights from the braided wiring, and the layered plastic which is actually transparent, creating a cool crystalline shell appearance over the actual ear pieces. I did not treat it very roughly, but it does seem to be durable, particularly in the high-wear areas of the head support band and the padding for the ear pieces. It's nice to note that the material for the cushion, a nylon-esque cover is over the foam, giving it a lot more protection for long-lasting use, while not suffering cracking or heat/sweat like some of the faux leather headsets. The presentation is visually beautiful, and continues to impress with the comfort and feel of the fit as well. Admittedly, I have an extremely large head, and so it was a little tight. For else anyone who wears a 7.75 size hat, this is yet another headset not made for us. Still, the feel is very luxurious, and I can definitely put up with a bit of tightness from the fit in rotation with my other headset. The wired connection will be love/hate for some, but I really like the fact that it can be relied on this way. I do have other wireless headsets, and there are times when each are useful, but for an always reliable, fantastic quality sound option, this is really great to have. The sound itself is great, as expected from JBL. It's marketed as a gaming headset, and while games do have fantastic soundtracks, many are optimized to play sounds in standard ranges that devices support, so I don't know how much difference it makes. For listening to other music such as wav files in the highest fidelity, it does sound very nice. I tested the microphone, it's good and perfectly serviceable. I have a dedicated podcast mic and this wasn't at that level, but it's a great mic option for games or video conferences. As a final touch, I have to admit, I absolutely loved the giant "R" and "L" indicators embroidered as part of the design. This is always something I need to pause to consider when grabbing a headset, and they really did a fantastic job with a label that actually reads great and looks cool. It's a small touch, but for me, this was just a perfect example of all the little considerations that went into the design. ... show more

I got the JBL Quantum 250 Wired Gaming Headset for my gaming teenager, and it has been a huge hit. From the moment he started using it, he was clearly impressed, and I even overheard him bragging to his siblings about his new headset! One of the things he really likes is how customizable it is through the companion app. It gives him the ability to tweak settings to match what he’s playing, which makes the whole experience feel more personalized. Comfort-wise, this headset is excellent. It isn’t heavy on the head at all, which is important for long gaming sessions. The mesh headrest is honestly a game changer. It keeps things breathable and comfortable. The ear pads are also very soft and cushiony, so they sit nicely around the ears without feeling tight. The microphone quality is excellent as well, and he really appreciates that it can be detached when it’s not needed. That’s a nice touch for when he’s just listening to music or not actively chatting with friends. When I tried them on, I noticed the noise cancelling feature is fantastic and something I would come to expect from a JBL product. He says it really helps block out background noise and keeps him focused on his game. Overall, my son absolutely LOVES these. 04 April 2026: I've been pleased with and enjoying the excellent sound quality from these headphones. I have a couple of pros, and a couple of cons, that aren't a reflection of quality rather than a recommendation to JBL for making these just a bit more user friendly. Pros: Comfort. The ear pads have a very comfortable woven cloth ear padding rather than cheap pleather that will quickly deteriorate like my other high-dollar headphones. I love the way they seem to caress my ears. The cloth is cooler than pleather too. Sound Quality. The sound out of these headphones are every bit as good as my much more expensive noise-cancelling headphones. Lightweight. I hardly know that these are on when I first don them. They feel great (for a while, anyway). Cons: Not Wireless. These are corded. Bluetooth would have been more convenient. Cord Length too Short. The cord is just too short at one meter. You can't lean back in your chair for a stretch without risking unplugging or damaging the cord. It is for this reason that I rated the headphones at 4 stars. If the cord were 2 meters. I would have rated at 5 stars. I plan to replace the cord with a 6 foot cord at a minimum. Last, the headphones are a little snug on my head and become a bit uncomfortable after a couple of hours. I wear a size 7 hat, so my head is not very big. If you have a larger than average head, these headphones may not be the best choice for multi-hour wear while gaming. Overall, I am very pleased with these headphones a recommend them to all.
