Description

JBL Premium 6.5-Inch Component Speaker System - Set of 2 JBL engineers designed the GTO 609C component speaker to produce strong, clear sound from a head-unit or amplifier capable of delivering up to 270 watts of power. This makes the GTO 609C an ideal match to systems powered with head-unit or factory-amplifier power levels. Even better, the speaker matches many of the GTO Series amplifier combinations. As a result, it can keep up with systems that feature one or more subwoofers and satisfy high-fidelity audiophile listeners. And its great power-handling specifications also increase reliability over the lifetime of the speaker. The GTO 609C’s Plus One carbon- injected cones provide more overall speaker-cone area than other cones in its class. With an effective increase in cone area, the speaker radiates more air. Also, its carbon-injected cone material produces a lighter and stiffer cone. The result is a better low-frequency response and a greater ability to make those important musical notes that people often associate with larger speaker sizes.

Replaced the door speakers in my 2019 Mercedes Sprinter and it is night and day even with stock head unit. Beware the door panel with this speaker installed is much heavier. Use the foam tape to avoid vibrations. The install kit is very useful and easy to figure out. Instructions are not very helpful. Use a 9V battery to test factory speaker to determine polarity. I used these to replace the paper cone 2Ohm 6.5" speakers in my 2014 Tesla Model S. The worry is that switching from 2 Ohms the reported 3 Ohms would result in a lower volume. So far so good. These doing fantastic and were easy to swap out. I used the existing speaker mounts and cut+Dremel-ed the old speakers out. I suggest soldering the new connections. I also used some door weather stripping to seal the bracket I used from the kit to mount to the plastic speaker standoff. They sound nice and punchy. ... show more

Speakers sound great ...I have them in multiple vehicles. Don't know why they send wire connections on the tweaters that don't fit the crossover but all in all a good buy.

Really good sounding speakers for the price. Even when running on the stock head unit they have good bass and clarity. So much better than stock speakers. On a second note, they were a PITA to install in my 2016 Corolla. Crossovers are on the big side and there was no room in the door to mount them without interfering with something. Ended up wrapping them with foam tape and sandwiching them in the bottom of the door behind the woofer. Works but not ideal. Also none of the tweeter mounting adapters would work in stock configuration. Had to drill the tweeter grills out on the sail panel. Turned out great but a lot of work. If I had to do it over I would have bought the coaxial version of these. ... show more

Installation was fairly easy being they provide you with mounting brackets for both tweeters and woofer (screws and sticky foam included as well). Sound quality is cleaner than my stock speakers were, but I feel I lost a bit of bass. Nothing horrible about these speakers other than the tweeters are of cheap quality. They stopped working a day after Installation. Maybe just faulty from factory but I just went back to my stock tweeters. ... show more

Crazy bass I knew I'd be giving them a perfect ib alignment and they'd have good bass but I didn't expect what these do with a little 100x2 Bluetooth amp on a m18 drill battery These absolutely smash I can't get over it they absolutely rock my sauna out lol wayyyy too loud and very clean...
