I found these jbl speakers to be fairly simple to install in my 1998 Ford Taurus. I had a couple blown out stock factory speakers that needed to be replaced, so I just removed the old speakers, snipped off the wiring harnesses that were connected to the old factory speakers so I could hard wire in these JBL's. Simple and easy. I could have bought new Ford harnesses to avoid having to splice the wires, but it doesn't matter to me because I don't plan on removing these JBL's from my car. These speakers sound great. They have a bit more low bass then the CrunchCS speakers I installed in the rear of my taurus (although the Crunch hit the mids better), but these JBL's seem to have more power overall and sound better. I am still running factory stereo because these speakers are enough for me, I just wanted a quality set of speakers to listen to the radio and occasionally hook up the aux cord and jam out, and these JBL' s were exactly what I was looking for. ... show more

2010 Mazda3 i Touring Sedan 2.0 non-Bose with corner tweeters. These JBL GT786 speakers fit exactly using the (included) adapter plate, Metra 72-5602 speaker harness from Amazon and the original screws (just barely, so be careful not to strip the holes). It's necessary to drill a hole for the harness wires to pass to the back of the speakers. Even using my trim removal tools most of the plastic door panel fasteners broke, but in the end, after tightening the three main screws, the door panel still seems fairly solid, so I"m not sure if I'm going to replace the fasteners. These speakers sound much clearer and with much better bass than the stock speakers. Since I didn't want to replace my head unit or bother with additional amplification - considering speaker specifications and ease of installation - these speakers seem like a perfect upgrade for this application. My total install time: 3-4 hours for both front doors. Highly recommended. ... show more

97 Lincoln Mark viii. Premium jbl from the factory. Kenwood Head unit running original amplifier. I replaced the rears with these and noticed an overall clarity increase. They are a great overall speaker for the $ and power range. I will say they have nothing much on the low end (Bass) but better than most 6x8. I have all infinity kappa in the blazer with massive RMS. Id say anything amplified over 100 watts channel go kappa everytime. Same manufacturer but as similar as they are. Jbl 3 ohm kappa 2.6 ohm they're different sounding and power requirements. Kappa better at high RMS JBL better at low RMS ... show more

This was a perfect fit for my 2004 Mazda 6s wagon non-Bose (F & R). I used two pair of Metra 72-5600 Speaker Wire Adapters for Select Ford Vehicles and it was absolutely plug and play. Even the adhesive factory plastic splash shields fit on the back, as if they were designed for the JBL's. The sound is fantastic and a monumental improvement over the 16 year old factory specimens. While not a competition speaker it will most certainly be an upgrade from the original speaker in every way. Remove the thin plastic tweeter protector pictured in this review, or with speaker will buzz when in use. ... show more

Honestly for the price I paid, these are pretty awesome. Sure there louder higher quality but for your daily driving these are 3 times better than your stock speakers.
