    • JBL ROCKS, literally!
This was perfect for my Mazda 3 (2013-2018). I had to do some minor modifications but it was nothing a DIYer with a glue gun, hand saw and a screw driver couldn't handle. It was my first time doing something like this and everything went smoothly. This is why I gave it 5 stars for installation. Based on the sound quality you get for the low price, there is no doubt these speaker are value for money. Got them heavily discounted on Amazon and had to grab them. Just do your youtube research to hear them installed in someone's car and you will see what I am talking about. Sound quality is amazing! In order to compare it to my stock door speakers I installed the right side first and then faded from left to right on my head unit. It was night and day. JBLs were 100% better. They were clearer, louder and the tweeters came alive. I didnt know I had tweeters before now. By the way, there was need to use the cross overs that came with the package as the head unit already separated the sound. Bass was enough for someone who just wants low base felt only inside the car. All the mirrors will shake but not disturbingly so. My plan was to add these first to the front, then use JBL G7 coaxials at the back and then add JBL amplifier with sub but based on the sound/bass I am getting from just the front install, I honestly think the amp with sub may be an overkill. I'm not a fan of overly loud systems. I just love deep bass felt at low volume. Afterall, I want to be able to speak to my wife and kids while enjoying the music and not have to adjust the volume everytime someone wants to say something. BUY!!! You won't regret it. ... show more

    • NEED AN AMPLIFIER!!!!
These speakers, FOR THE MONEY, sound AMAZING! Very clear highs without being overpowering and good mids/mid-bass. You ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO RUN AN AMPLIFIER THOUGH! Set gain properly and break them in properly. These are better than 90% of the speakers I've used in the past BUT I also have a decent amp and sound delayed head unit too running off 12 gauge speaker wire. WORD TO THE WISE.....these measured 5.1ohm resistance for me. So keep that in mind when looking at amps. ALSO....to everyone experiencing static noise should run a better ground to your amp and run shielded plug wires and shielded RCA cables. ... show more

I have had the speakers installed for a week, and as always JBL does nto dissappoint. The sound quality is superb and for now I am running off my deck power which is 25rms which just barely enough power, but for that kind of power the clarity and sound quality is as I always expect. Put more power through these speakers and you will get even better sound. Got my approval. Update: 12-8-19 Been running the speakers for the whole year now and as expected these speakers are clear and solid. I will be purchasing another set for my Prelude. JBL always outstanding sound.     • What's wrong with mine?
So i purchased these speakers for my 00 vw jetta, previous owner had installed aftermarket deck and sound system but the speakers were going bad.... I read the reviews and saw the stars and the speakers instantly caught my eye, good desc etc... plus i've owned many jbl products and love them... but after i installed these speakers they sounded great at first but after about a day of using them getting them broke in, i noticed a static coming from my right door tweeter. Me taking Nothing by it, my buddy got into the car the next day and not only did WE hear it but the back door on his side had it too... me thinking i did something wrong checked my wiring for crossovers it was good, checked them with a multi meter had plenty power... I was kinda disappointed spent hours of my time in this and now today just turned it on and i have static in my drivers door speaker... I'm not a car audio newbie but i do believe i did nothing wrong. I hope someone can help, i contacted amazon for a refund but after being told i was gonna get half in return i got nothing. ... show more

    • Great quality and great powerful sound
The highs and lows are great with this component set. I have them in the front doors of my convertible firebird and they sound great. I changed out the standard plastic lining from the doors with custom wood inserts and this helped the base tremendously. I have this powered to their peak as the amp and speakers both have 150W peak output at 4 ohms. They do not distort or vibrate at all but deliver crisp clear sound at very high volumes. I think they definitely perform better with an amp but I have not tested them connected directly to a head unit only. ... show more

Save up a few more bucks and go with the JBL GTO609c or the Infinity Kappa 60CSX for amazing mid bass/better audio fidelity. These have virtually no mid bass. All my door are sound deadened.

    • Great sound but may not fit standard 6.5 openings.
Not a direct fit replacement for 95 Civic. These speakers are too large for the door opening. I had to make mdf speaker adaptors and added sound deadening to the doors. The sound is very detailed and full once I dialed in my equalizer. Great sound for the price!
