Whether placed on a kitchen counter, coffee table, or taken outdoors, it feels durable enough for everyday use. Setup & Connectivity Setup is quick and straightforward. I’ve had no issues pairing the Charge 6 with any of my devices. Bluetooth connection is stable and reliable, something I really value, as I’ve owned other speakers that occasionally failed to appear or dropped connection. In this area, the Charge 6 performs consistently well. Sound Quality For a speaker in this price range, the sound quality is impressive. Volume: Gets surprisingly loud for its size. This JBL waterproof speaker arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. The box was sealed, and everything was neatly packed inside. The charging cable and instructions were included. Setup was quick. Pairing with my phone took only a minute, and the Bluetooth connection has been stable. The buttons are easy to find and respond well. The speaker feels solid and well made. It has a durable exterior with a textured finish that provides a good grip. The compact size and handle make it easy to carry or toss into a backpack. Sound quality is impressive for the size. Voices are clear, and music has good balance with more bass than I expected. It gets plenty loud without sounding distorted at higher volumes. If you’re someone who loves music as much as I do, I definitely recommend this speaker. My family has owned the same JBL speaker for 7+ years, and it still works great, so I was confident this one would last for many years as well. I’ve had no issues connecting it to my Bluetooth devices, the battery lasts a long time, and it charges fairly quickly. I can listen to my music for hours without constantly worrying about having to charge it. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. At almost 60 years old, I’ve experienced just about every kind of audio system imaginable — component stereo systems, high-end car audio setups, premium headphones, earbuds, home theater systems, and portable speakers from many of the biggest brands. Because of that, it takes quite a bit to genuinely impress me when it comes to sound quality. The JBL Charge 6 absolutely impressed me. What JBL accomplished with this speaker is remarkable. The sound is incredibly powerful considering such a small footprint. This thing is compact enough to fit easily into almost any backpack, yet it produces bold, room-filling sound that feels much larger than the speaker itself. The audio quality is excellent. The highs are crystal clear, vocals sound clean and detailed, and the bass is deep, punchy, and robust without sounding muddy or distorted. Even at higher volumes, the sound remains balanced and enjoyable. The volume range is outstanding — this speaker gets surprisingly loud while still maintaining clarity. I decided to upgrade from the JBL Charge 5 to the new JBL Charge 6. The most major thing I've noticed so far, is that the Charge 6 has significantly less battery life than the Charge 5. This may be due to the "AI sound boosting" or whatever, I'm not sure, but I was fairly disappointed by that. It functions well as a powerbank - I was able to charge my phone during 2 layover plane trips and still have battery left in it after the flights were over, so it does have a GREAT amount of battery life, just seemingly not as much as the Charge 5. Also, the charging port of the Charge 6 does NOT have a built-in cover, unlike the Charge 5, which I think is a mistake considering it's advertised as waterproof. I'll have to get a type-c port plug. The sound quality seems about as good as the Charge 5, I don't notice any major differences in that, the Charge 5 may be a little louder at the cost of audio quality. The Charge 6 doesn't have raised, tactile buttons like the Charge 5 does, which can be confusing when blindly reaching for the buttons, but it's not that big of a deal. I will say that it does seem more sturdy than the Charge 5, it feels more rugged, and the carrying handle/strap clips are very handy. It is pretty heavy, heavier than the Charge 5, but I don't mind it since there's a nice strap to carry it with. The connection via bluetooth is held very well. Audio quality is good, connection is stable. There were no cords included in the package, which is fine because, well, who doesn't have a Type-C charging cable these days. Overall, I would buy it again, but maybe wait until it's on sale.

Bought JBL6 November 2025 for $141, and am very pleased with purchase....I wanted something with punchy base that was portable/compact and reasonably light. I use it alot and take it on trips. It has good base for its size and is clear and pleasant to listen at mids/highs, and plenty of oomph at higher volumes for large rooms. Bluetooth fine with WIN10/WIN11. Power I've never tested but have listened for several hours at a time easily USB plug in good/easy. Bought silver color with red-trim lettering.
