Got a really great price for my Janome S5! Absolutely love this machine. I nmade this upgrade now in order to avoid increased cost because of tariffs. So glad I made the leap. It’s going to take quite a while for my sewing skills to outgrow this amazing top of the line machine. I can sew everything from tote bags to doll clothes to a wedding dress! I’ve already finished 5 incomplete projects just to practice and I can’t believe the power! I upgraded from a Singer Stylist which I had so much fun on for years (also a great machine). I jumped the gun on purchasing this because my search revealed there were only 2 to 4 of them at this price anywhere. Newer stock of this same machine is priced somewhat higher to almost double! I’m very happy with this purchase

I love my machine, so easy to use & stitches are just beautiful! Reason I purchased this one, I have dementia, the machine has the stitches programed into it, you just click on the stitch & it comes up & works nicely!!No setting at machine for over an hour trying to figure out what,which or where??? Its Awesome! I use to get so mad at my machine, but NOT w/this one!! Im so Happy, now I can finish my youngest grandsons quilt. Plus I have 2 others I will make for too! This is a wonderful sewing machine. I like it much better than my old Bernina which never worked very well despite Bernina's great reputation. My only complaint is with the tension. The tension seems to be slightly off on the bobbin side which according to the guide means that the top thread tension is off. Oddly, when I change the tension, it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm in the middle of making a quilt and I'm very dependent on my machine. Regardless, all the sewing machines are closed due to covid19. Because the tension is only slightly off I will continue to sew but hope to have, it looked at just as soon as the stores open.

I’m in love with this sewing machine. I sew dolls and need a very small tight stitch and this machine is excellent for that.

I recently purchased the Janome Skyline S5. This is my first computerized sewing machine. After days of researching the options and brand names, I decided to go with the Janome brand. They have a great reputation for good quality machines. Next, I listed my must have features: start/stop button (I have a bad right foot), good lighting, (my eyes are bad too), needle threader, memorized needle up or down, fonts, automatic thread cutter, adjustable presser foot for thick fabrics, and most importantly easy to use settings (my 10 year loves it). Threading the machine and winding the bobbin is similar to my old Kenmore. It has 170 build in stitches. I can slow down the speed so my daughter can sew with it. We had a blast checking out all the different features and stitches. Pretty quiet too.
