Description

Sewing gets easier when your machine helps you make decisions. The Janome Sewist 780DC is a fully computerized machine built around that idea — select a stitch, and the backlit LCD screen immediately tells you which presser foot to use, the recommended width and length, and what adjustments are available. For anyone who's ever stopped mid-project to second-guess a setting, that kind of guidance changes everything. 80 built-in stitches, 3 one-step buttonhole styles, and a slide-out reference chart mean you're never far from the right choice. The build quality here earns its price. A rigid die-cast internal aluminum frame keeps the tabletop sewing machine stable and vibration-free, and our patented needle plate markings bring the same precision needle placement found on machines at much higher price points. The 7-piece Superior Plus Feed System moves fabric consistently across weights and layers, and the adjustable foot pressure dial lets you fine-tune for everything from chiffon to denim. Workflow is where the 780DC really distinguishes itself. 20 direct select buttons put the most-used stitches a single press away, with 60 more on the slide-out chart. The automatic thread cutter trims both top and bobbin thread simultaneously at the push of a button — a small feature that adds up to a lot of time saved across a long sewing session. The start/stop button lets you sew without a foot pedal, and a programmable needle down keeps your fabric locked in position at every pause and pivot. An extension table, accessory storage box, hard cover, built-in needle threader, and a full set of snap-on presser feet round out a machine that arrives genuinely ready to use. Everything about the Sewist 780DC reflects the same Janome philosophy: smart engineering, real durability, and features that make the sewing experience feel less like work and more like creating.

  • Appears to be a sturdy machine.
Had purchased another major brand that starts with an S that had all the bells and whistles but it was a total piece of junk. Nothing but problems from day one. It was returned (not from Amazon). This machine doesn’t have as many stitches or do embroidery and was about 2x the price as the previous one. I have had not one problem with it so far. Stitches are nice. Does not sound clunky and cheap like the other machine during use. Does a nice overlock stitch. Will most likely upgrade to a higher end model of this brand in the future. ... show more

  • Awesome Machine
Working well so far. The only complaint is the height when changing the presser feet is hard to work around but I still love the machine. Better than my singer.

  • So far so good
I have only just received my beautiful Janome Sewist after waiting 3 weeks (not the sellers fault) and so far I have only practiced a few stitches. It came well packaged and set up was easy. I think I am really going to like it once I learn all the neat features on it.

  • Great machine for all experience levels
This Janome was my second choice ( the one I wanted was never in stock so I canceled the order). I am so glad I decided to get this one which was significantly less. The other one had a few more options that I probably would not have or rarely used. This machine is everything an experienced sewer would want and it gets the job done well. I have already made drapes and other item with ease. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Great sewing machine
I love my new Janome sewing machine. Best machine I’ve had and it sews like a dream.

  • Constantly breaks down
When it works, it’s great. Problem is it only works for a few weeks.

  • Janome is great
Janome is amazing. I actually ordered another brand with comparable features and exchanged it for this. Smooth, quiet and very easy to use.

  • Not worth the money
The automatic features were good but the stitches didn't match the quality of my basic Brother sewing machine.
