This machine is amazing. Janome makes Brother look like it's subpar. I like how it sews through 8 layers of medium weight denim with ease. It sews very quietly. I love the function where it locks in the stitch before sewing and at the end. It has a stretch stitch, awesome buttonholer, zig zag and blind hem functions. It has all the necessary stitch functions for running my sewing and mending business. It even has some cute ones, too. I asked for a Amazon box because it was a machine and I didn't want it to disappear. The actual manufacturers box showed somewhere like it was bounced around inside the Amazon box. But it was well packed inside the manufacturer's box or no damage to the sewing machine. Now on to the sewing machine this is my first gen home I am very pleased. So far it seems to be working as advertised. It's so smooth in it's operation you can hardly you can hardly hear it in there's little and no vibrations. So I'm pleased so far. This was purchased for our daughter who is new to sewing. My mom suggested this one because she has had the same one for 10 plus years and it’s been a workhorse and easy to use ,Mom/Grandma is a very experienced sewer and has multiple models of sewing machines and still suggested this one. This machine has all the features you would need as a new or experienced sewer. The price was reasonable also. It did take a little longer to arrive so keep that in mind if it’s going to be a gift.
