  • If you've done your research, you already know this is a GREAT machine!
Style: Janome 8200QCP
Barely had this machine 3 weeks and can't say enough about how much I love this machine! It practical sews by itself. The Special Edition came with so many extras I still haven't learned it all. I'm waiting for the seller, World Weidner, to send the soft cover which is on backorder from Janome. The seller has been helpful so far. I will update once I get the soft cover. The 8200 runs quietly, it's BIG, with an 11" throat. It puts up with my mistakes as I learn how to use all of its wonderful settings and accessories. It's well built and durable. I've only used sewing machines sparingly in the past but am now embracing this machine and learning to free-motion quilt. If you're in the hunt for a machine, I can't recommend the MC8200QCP Special Edition enough! Update: I finally received the semi-hard cover for this machine (the machine's size makes it very hard to find a soft cover) and am very happy with it! It took over 3 months to get it, but it came. Thank you World Weidner! ... show more

  • Worth It!
Style: Janome 8200QCP
I am very pleased with this beautiful sewing machine. The trolley, semi-hard cover, walker foot, and needles were shipped separately. I received the sewing machine first. Everything is high Janome quality. This is an upgrade from my Brother. I have been learning how to quilt. This purchase has made my journey smoother. The seller promptly answered my inquiry. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Impressive Vendor
Style: Janome 8200QCP
My Janome sewing machine was delivered the very next day after ordering. I'm very pleased with the machine and it definitely is a step up from my 20+ year old Baby Lock which has been a very good machine. I'm glad I made this purchase.

  • Janome 8900
Received this a couple of days ago during a cold snap. Left it on the table over night to bring it up to room temp before I started it. And once I did, I was super impressed. I have loved my Pfaff 1475 for 30 years and used it to death. It still works but some glitches were showing up and there wasn't anyone around to fix it. So after looking for a year or so, I bought this even though it didn't have the integrated dual feed that I loved so much in my Pfaff. Shouldn't have worried. It feeds beautifully without it! Stitches are well formed, it's a quiet machine, this came with everything I needed wrt accessories and so far, everything works as promised. Love the built in needle threader, the way I can adjust both thread tension and foot tension, lots of light, push button thread cutter, etc. The covers are beautiful and the extension table is impressive! Only thing I am not crazy about is the dial. Didn't realize I would be uncomfortable with it. I will be using the screen to choose my stitches whenever possible. Call me weird, but it just seems as if the dial is something that might be the first (and possibly ONLY) thing to break on this. Oh, and it's a substantial machine. Heavy and wide. Love the width of the throat because I am a quilter but I will not be taking this machine with me out of the house. Have my Pfaff as a back up for sewing classes. Will update this review if I find it warrants an additional star or if I need to remove one. Right now I'd say this is one amazing sewing machine. ... show more

  • Great Machine
Style: Janome 8200QCP
The seller is quick to respond to messages with any concerns and the machine works like a dream! It has cut down what would be a whole day’s work into a few hours. Great product.

  • Finally! Tech and utility in one machine!
Style: Janome 8200QCP
I couldn't be happier with this machine. It's quiet and has so many options and extras. Great value for the price point. The larger bed is wonderful for quilting. I appreciate that there are some features that aren't too technical - for an older seamstress, the threading, bobbins, raising and lowering the foot, reverse - all where you would expect them be without needless technology. But the tech is there where you need it and there are lots of choices that are easy to access. I don't know why I waited so long to replace my old machine. ... show more

  • Excellent machine for under $5K
Style: Janome 8200QCP
This machine has been in constant use for almost two months. I am really getting into machine quilting my own quilts and am grateful to have a machine with a large harp area, reliable stitching quality and many features of a far, far more expensive machine. The dual feed attachment, ability to change out the needle plates, enhanced lighting, the easy to use controls, knee bar, and automatic thread cutter are all valuable features. Yes, it is a bit heavy (note though that I’m in my 70s), but it is not impossible to haul around if necessary. I had a Janome before that was fine, but this machine is wonderful! ... show more

  • Warning: Possible defective electronics of Janome Memory Craft 8200
Style: Janome 8200QCP
I purchased the Memory Craft Horizon 8200QCP during the pandemic at the end of November 2020. It's an adequate machine, but stitch quality doesn't compare to my Bernina 930. Among other sewing projects, I'm an enthusiastic quilter, and I thought this Janome would be perfect for piecing and quilting. A recent incident using the Janome was startling and could have been dangerous. I was sewing with it and lifted my foot off the pedal and the machine continued to sew rapidly. It was almost as if the pedal had stuck in the fastest mode. The only way I could turn the machine off was by using the on/off switch at the side of the machine. I contacted the store which Amazon had used as the original supplier, and it was suggested that the pedal was defective and could have caused the problem. So I went online and ordered a Janome electronic replacement. Tossed the old pedal, which I now realize was a mistake, and installed the new one. Today is the second time I have used the Janome since replacing the pedal. After sewing for several hours, I lifted my foot off the pedal and it continued to race at top speed. This time the only way I could turn the machine off was by pulling the plug from the wall outlet. The Stop/Start button on the face of the machine didn't work. This was SCARY. I have been sewing since 4 when my mother sat with me at her 1948 Singer sewing machine. Over 50 years later, I continue to sew on a regular basis. I have used a Singer, JCPenney, Juki and my all time favorite Bernina 930 and never had an occurrence like this. I will be contacting the distributor tomorrow. I'm assuming that this type of issue would be a warranty repair. UPDATE 7/6/23 Contacted the retailer and was told I needed to get in touch with Janome directly. The warrantee on the electronics on this model is 2 years. $2000 machine with a very limited warrantee. Emailed Janome but have not received a reply. Will update when I do. FINAL UPDATE JULY 24, 2023 Wrote to the president of Janome America in Mahwah, NJ. He forwarded my letter to customer service which arranged for my machine to be shipped and returned following evaluation. Today I received my 8200 QCP back. The foot controller is not operating. So the original problem still exists. Final: Returned again to Janome, and the machine is now in working order. ... show more
