I hated the ivory color (too yellow, with a bit of green undertone), so like a bunch of other people I decided to paint it. I painted the individual pieces before assembling it. The factory finish looked pretty tightly sealed so I started by brushing on a coat of bonding primer. I used Stix waterborne bonding primer. This might not be necessary, but I'd definitely want some type of primer and I wanted it as durable as possible. I then brushed on two coats of the same paint I'd used on the room trim, which happened to be a box store brand paint+primer in semi gloss. I got a nice durable finish that now looks great in the room. I'm sure spray paint would work too but would still definitely start with a primer. Five stars to the seller XBeauty direct for customer service. They contacted me when the item shipped to give me the tracking number for the second box, since Amazon only gave one tracking number. Both of my boxes arrived the same day and actually before the estimated delivery window. I contacted them to double check about painting and they responded it's OK to paint it. I also contacted them when I discovered the remote didn't work. They immediately sent a replacement. The replacement doesn't work much better (it works sometimes if you press really hard and only if the control panel door is standing open, who wants to leave it standing open?) so one star to the manufacturer for the quality of the remote but the seller was very responsive. ... show more

We love this fireplace. We now have three of them. You can run the fireplace with no heat and it looks beautiful and when it's cold it heats a 300 Sq ft room in less than an hour.

I did many research before I made the decision to purchase this fireplace. This fireplace is more than I was expecting. It’s beautiful, it’s made with good materials. It makes my house look so beautiful. I absolutely love it and I highly recommend it!
