This is working as expected to hold my kitchen "utility knives" (four inexpensive serrated steak knives) and kitchen scissors. No doubt it would hold more than I'm using it for. It comes with hardware to mount to a wall, but I have it mounted on the side of my fridge using magnets. I purchased four inexpensive ceramic magnets locally at a bargain tool store whose name rhymes with barber eight. The magnets are working great to hold the knife holder to the fridge, and the knife holder in turn is working as expected to hold my kitchen toys. Tip: When removing a knife from the magnet bar, grab the knife by the handle and twist so that the sharp blade edge turns toward you and away from the magnet. This minimizes the pulling forces on the magnet bar, and prevents damage to the sharp edge of the blade. Likewise, when returning a knife to the magnet bar, first touch the dull back edge of the blade to the magnet, then roll the blade flat to stick to the bar. Kudos to Amazon for a quick return/exchange. They initially sent the silver version of this holder when I had ordered black. Had to return it and order again, but there were absolutely no hassles with the process.

It's magnetic, it's stainless, it holds the knives well, and it just works. It does not mark up the finish on your knives. Very easy to use. I placed mine on the side of a refrigerator and it holds very well.

I owned the magnetic knife bar pictured. It works very well, but that IS NOT THE ONE THEY SEND YOU if you order this. I don't know if Henckles changed their product or this is a different model, but that older model, with the visible screws, was great. Sadly, I left it in my condo when I moved out because I had drilled mounting holes in the tile. I ordered this one to replace it, but it is a totally different style. I already own one of this style, and it is garbage. In what is apparently an attempt to hide the scary screw heads, they went to a hidden mounting under a plastic bracket that FALLS OFF sometimes when I remove a knife. Imagine having $500 of knives falling two feet onto your countertop. Since the one you get IS NOT THE ONE PICTURED, I give this an "avoid". This is the first Henckles product I have ever given a bad review.

So i have to call bullpucky on this being a 7 knife holder. Guess if you had some smaller paring knives then... yeh... maybe. But it will hold 5 very nicely. Just two thoughts on it: it needs to be 1” taller or more for 9” knives and the Lip on the face needs to be lined with a metallic surface to keep knife tips from embedding into the bamboo and then potentially getting bent or broken. Otherwise a really nice way to display and use your knives.

I live in an apartment with a tiny, galley-style kitchen. I have next to NO counter space. I was fed up with having the small piece of counter next to my stove filled up with a spice rack AND a knife rack AND a utensils jar. I found the Henckel's magnabar here on amazon and gave it a try. Now I am not your Miss Fix-It type so maybe others would not have this problem, but I found it awkward to mount this thing on the wall next to my stove. The end caps of the bar, which you use to set the screws in, and the top and bottom edging of the bar are plastic and rather flimsy. By the time I got the bar up and stable, one edge of the magnabar had bent/come loose. After sinking the screws into my wall, I didn't want to stop and return it, so I just put the "bad side" back toward the corner where it won't be as noticeable. I do really enjoy having more counter space and all the knives lined up on the bar looks great, but I have to admit I expected a higher quality product from Henckels.

Everything was perfect about the block itself. It doesnt tip over when pulling a knife off ! Many others can’t say the same. My only issue is it’s very hard for me to tell where the two pieces of wood meet so when placing a knife on you have to be super careful you don’t break a tip off or bend it….yes I did this on my tojiro dp…magnetic grabbed when I had knife to low and it chipped tip. I will say it’s my fault but it’s very hard to tell exactly how high you need to be. Much safer sliding it on. Otherwise the quality of this on point.

I am very pleased with this magnetic knife storage. I was a little skeptical at first to have knives hanging like this, but in 6 months, I haven't had a single incident due to knives falling. The knives are very sturdy, even large, heavy knives. It also adds a nice appeal to a kitchen.
