Description

Please note this is a SMALL area Paltier dehumidifier that’s only 13.8 inched high. If you need a dehumidifier for larges areas than please look for Compressor dehumidifiers. This isn't a watered-down version of a bigger dehumidifier – it's a highly effective mid-size machine in its own right, built around the powerful and whisper-quiet Peltier technology. Peltier technology works with no moving parts, so we managed to design our dehumidifier as a compact appliance: small, lightweight, low on energy consumption, powerful, effective at drying up musty rooms, and, with all that, a long lifespan. Suited for Small Spaces of Up to 100 Square Feet, our mid- size dehumidifier is the perfect tool to extract moisture and dust particles from stagnant areas and mildew- and mold-stricken rooms. From bathrooms to laundry rooms to bedrooms to antique cars to boats, it rids the air of mustiness and unpleasant odors while quietly pulling in excess humidity at a rate of up to 25 ounces per day at 86° Fahrenheit and 80% relative humidity. Another advanced function is the auto humidistat. Dehumidifiers without a humidistat work hard non-stop even if RH levels drop as low as 20%. This wastes energy and wears out the power adapters. With the humidistat function, you can set your desired relative humidity level in the range of 40%-80%. When RH levels increase beyond your set level by a value of 5%, the machine automatically turns on. When RH levels decrease below your set level by a value of 5%, the machine automatically turns off. Default setting is 50% RH. A removable water reservoir with a capacity of two full liters spares you the hustle of emptying out an overflowing water tank every day. It can hold approximately 2.5-days' worth of dehumidifying action. It is also programmed to shut off automatically once it has reached capacity. An indicator light will go on to remind you to empty the tank out.

  • It Works For Me!
I live in Arkansas in an old Victorian home that was converted into small apartments. The weather in Arkansas can get brutally humid and the air in my bedroom has always felt heavy and stale (a fan didn't help at all). After several years of living there, I started noticing mildew spots that were concerning me. Cleaning them up was only going to be a temporary solution so I did some research and purchased the Ivation dehumidifier, which was listed on several reviews as being one of the best and was definitely the best buy for the money. I really thought I needed a bigger one but, frankly, I wasn't about to pay the high prices. I figured whatever this dehumidifier could do was better than nothing. Needless to say, I didn't have real high expectations. The first thing I noticed was that the look of it is pretty sleek and it turned out to be the perfect size for the spot I needed it in. I didn't really notice any difference in the air quality until the next morning... but, Wow... what a difference. The soft hum of the machine lulled me to sleep and for the first time in a long time I slept like a rock. The air literally felt lighter that next morning (even my dog slept in). The dishrag smell was gone, too. I couldn't believe it. I've had it for about a month now and I absolutely love it. I just keep it on because it turns itself off once it reaches the relative humidity I set it for (I'm originally from California, so I keep mine set to 45% RH). It may be important to note that it doesn't cool down the room any (but I never expected it to). It does, however, makes the heat bearable now that I'm not wearing the weather. I honestly can't imagine living without it now. ... show more

  • Works great, quit, recamend.
We bought two of these units for our house about 8 months ago. We live in the Midwest words where it is very humid. We live in a new home and want to protect the new wood floors from all the humidity. Our house is a huge open floor plan and the little two humidifiers really do a great job. When they're full they shut off and there's a yellow light that lights up. You just pull out the drawer of water pour it out and start over . You can set the humidity level of your choice. I have it set at 30 or 35. The water reservoir is quite big. It takes a about a week to fill up. We have a huge industrial humidifier in our basement and it's very loud, these in comparison are very quiet. You can hear them but it's just slight white noise in the background. They're small enough you can hide them underneath the dresser in your guest bedroom or underneath the table in the corner. The design is clean, white, and kind of modern. It's not too big to keep out in the middle of a room. I would recommend these if you're wanting to have humidifiers in an open living area or bedroom. ... show more

  • Sort of works...
I wanted to buy something that I could run off my solar electric system. This runs off 12 volts (usually provided by an included DC converter), so I was able to simply cut the power cable and splice it into my 12 volt array. That part worked fine, and I run this unit when the sun is shining on my panels and the batteries are all full. So in that way, it's nice that it's working for "free". It's not squeezing water out of the air like crazy or anything though. Granted, it says the minimum air temp is 50 degrees F for this to work, and my basement is 62, so maybe it'd work better in a warmer environment. My relative humidity is about 55 percent currently, and running all afternoon, it's maybe getting a third to a half a cup of water per 8 hours. So it's not getting nothing, but it's nothing impressive. I've bought these "Thermo-Electric" devices before. Last one was a 12 volt cooler - and my feeling on the effectiveness of that unit were on par with this one. It just doesn't work that great - it just sort-of-works. ... show more

  • Initially the unit worked as advertised. But ...
Initially the unit worked as advertised. But after a few months the power supply is failing - alternately blowing the breaker and GFI. I noticed the phe power supply was getting warm, now it's getting hot and causing breakers to open. Power supplies are ubiquitous and there's no reason any should fail so soon. Closer inspection of the supply - it supplies about 12V/6.0A or 72 watts, yet uses 100-250VAC/2.5A or up to 250 watts! Not exactly efficient, and at 25% efficiency not sure it meets present day power supply UL and application guidelines -- and now that it's failing, especially in the GFI mode, it's also unsafe. I'll try to come back and update my attempts to get a new power supply from the vendor/manufacturer. UPDATE: No response from seller ... so I've wasted money on a product that worked only a couple of months and can't find a way to get warranty service. Lowered rating to (1) star. UPDATE 2: Seller finally replied and requires sending the entire unit back, supply and dehumidifier, at purchaser's expense. Unit fan now making lots of noise. Seriously, the unit is small, more or less quiet, and does pull water from the air. Compared to the 80 pint 1200W dehumidifier I sometimes use, this pint a day unit doesn't compare. But when it was working, it did perform as advertised, filling the smallish quart or so bucket in a few days. The humidistat will toggle relentlessly every few seconds if you place the unit with the rear intake in a corner - set up that way, the dry air just wraps around from the sides right back into the unit intake - so rampant cycling is to be expected. A better design would take air from the front. I turned it around to pull air from the center of the room instead of the corner it was in and the toggling was solved. When it reached the set point, then it would toggle, but at a more reasonable rate, minute or two on, minute or two off. ... show more
