I almost bought a cheaper dehumidifier but after reading this one’s reviews chose this, and I’m glad i did! The southern garage apartment I was in constantly felt sticky and damp. Running the a/c unit didn’t help and the small dehumidifier in there didn’t change the way it felt. When I plugged this unit in, the screen said the room had 73% humidity and before long it was down to 55% and i can visibly see all the water it’s pulling. The apartment feels much less gross! And I’m using the drain hose into the sink which is working well. Hopefully this thing lasts and is vaguely energy efficient because day one i am very satisfied ... show more

    • Just what the RV needed
We needed to get rid of excess moisture in our coach while traveling near and on the coast. We had problems with condensation on the walls and windows. The first night we used this we could tell a big difference. We pulled off about 1.5 gallons of water on the first day alone. Our cabinet doors opened easier and our towels dried in between uses. The unit is quiet and works well space wise. Definitely recommend this for RVers. ... show more

    • Very nice room sized dehumidifier
I purchased this dehumidifier for use in my basement and selected it over others out there because of it's smaller size and weight of about 20lbs. which makes it easier to carry down my steps to the basement. I've only been using it for a little over a week and it has been doing a good job of reducing the humidity in my basement. I elected to use the drain hose which I have emptying into a drain rather than collecting the water in the container which holds about 1 gal. thereby eliminating the need to empty it ever few hours. So far I'm very happy with how it operates and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small room sized dehumidifier. ... show more

    • Compact, efficient unit
Small footprint, very efficient. On the Norcal coast, humidity is usually 90+%. Smaller peltier unit I had took out about 16 oz of water in 3 or 4 days and brought the humity down to 60 or 70%. This unit removes about 68 oz in 12 hours. Brought the inside humity down to below 40% after a couple of days. Had to set the highly accurate humistat to 50%. Actually made it too dry in my 30 ft class A rv. Good unit, worth the money and relatively quite at 6 feet. Way quieter than any window AC I've ever had.     • Does the job, fails after 12 months (2nd time I buy one)
So I bought one in 2021, it worked nicely almost continuously for about 12 months, when the compressor unit failed. I bought another one of the same model, with the intention to fix the first one and have it as spare. Twelve months later (may 2023) this second one also failed. I've got my spare one, but I'm not buying again - The machine works fine for about a year, but unless you have budgeted 250$/year on dehumidification you should look for a more efective solution. ... show more

    • Great for a small space.
I needed a dehumidifier for a small space. This was the smallest compressor dehumidifier I could find, and t is working great for my application. I had an area that was very damp and humid with mold starting to grow and metal rusting. Within a few days the space was bone dry! Just what I needed. It is a small dehumidifier with a small capacity and a smaller water reservoir so don't plan on this dehumidifying your whole house. Noise level is reasonable. I have a larger dehumidifier for the garage which is much louder, and one I use in the living room which is considerably quieter (but is no longer being made.) It is probably quieter than most compressor dehumidifiers, but probably not something I would want running all the time in the room I am in. I love the small physical size of the unit. It is light in weight, has a carrying handle and an easy to read and use control panel. I'm really glad I found this, and I would buy it again. I'm giving it just 4 starts because the fan noise could be less. I have a room air filter and an exhaust fan that are almost silent, so I know that fans can be very quiet.     • Good dehumidifier fir your boat
My sailboat is in hot and humid Florida. It’s important to keep the dampness under control down below. Many people leave their AC units running to do this when they are away from the boat. I think this is a bad idea. First, these are very expensive AC units and second you have a sea water pump running that could easily sink the boat if something went wrong with the plumbing. Better to use a dehumidifier when away. The unit is small enough to secure below when we are out sailing. When not at the boat we set it up so it drains into the galley sink. I was concerned the manual advises not running it in temps over 95. In Florida during summer it’s close or over 95 down below just about every day. So far I’ve seen no problem with the unit due to this. Recommended for sailboats. Ours is 34 feet. ... show more
