Probably wouldn't survive an attack with a sledge hammer, but with it bolted to my cabinet, someone would have a very difficult time removing it, much less getting it open. I meant to review this sooner but couldn’t figure out how, bought it back in January. And by April it wouldn’t open, buttons wouldn’t work, the batteries were NOT dead. My husband had to take a saw to it to open it up I posted my review and island safe immediately reached out. They were disheartened to hear of of experience and immediately sent me a new safe. I was surprised and pleased to see the speedy response they gave me. Obviously I should’ve reached out to them right away. But based off past experiences with amazon sellers, I figured they wouldn’t be eager to rectify the situation or not at all. The new safe is working great, and I would recommend this seller based on their customer service alone. This safe is the perfect size for our needs. Strangely, it only had holes in the back for securing to a wall, rather than having holes in the floor. The felt shelf lining is on the floor of the safe, but not on the shelf. Since the shelf is removable, it would be easy enough to line it yourself. It seems to work OK. It says 1 hour fire protection but there are two mounting holes in the back so, I doubt it. The same goes for water. Seems sturdy and is a good value for the money. If you really want a fire rated safe it will cost you probably double this one.

Got this safe today 6/24/23. I would definitely buy another! This safe is so bada**! Small but definitely has a lot of space to store things. Came with a shelf and it has a light feature inside. The digital entry and the key. backup is nice. It's not Fort Knox, but if you want to protect some cash or documents this is a nice small safe you can bolt down. It'll keep the people who are dabbling with the idea of being a thief on the straight and narrow. A dedicated criminal type of course will get through this, but it will take time to remove it and that will be something they don't have if robbing your house or apartment. I am very dissatisfied bc it is in the description and it's one of the reasons we paid more for this safe than going with another one.
