  • Great value for the price – full features – perfect if you are starting e-biking
*I added the 5th star after 3 months I have been using the bike. No issues, and value for price deserves the 5th star anyway. Following the original review.* I used my new M50 e-bike for about 100 miles. This e-bike appears to be a very good compromise between an e-mountain-bike and an e-touring-bike. It runs great, despite an initial issue when I received a broken part (the display) in the packaging. The support sent me a replacement part, even if the replacement part shipment and tracking were a bit slow and confusing. This issue is the reason why I gave only 4 stars. In any case I easily replaced the part upon its arrival (and display now works fine showing many important data). The e-bike has full features, with good pedal-assistance and even a throttle. Brakes are with mechanical discs, efficient in my touring use. Assembling the bike was easy, but you could need a second person for the weight and for best front wheel adjustment (including brake). All the operations do not need special mechanical skills. Pedal-assistance (or throttle) has 5 levels (“speeds”), but you can typically use level 1, getting support when the speed is <10 mph. This is good, because you pedal by yourself at 12/14 mph on road/trail, but “it” pushes you (smoothly) when you slow down due to uphill. In some cases, you can switch to higher assistance-levels (e.g. steep and long uphill). You also have a decent classic 7 speed bicycle gearbox. Battery range, for my use, seems to be around 40 miles. Suspensions are helpful in gravel road. The e-bike is stable even if you pedal fast both in asphalt and gravel because of almost-fat tires and the wide handlebar but, on the other hand, it is a bit heavy and the handling in narrow gaps is not always optimal. The best is if you are around 6 feet tall, +/- a couple of inches. Later I again contacted support for a seat clamp lever issue and seat slipping, receiving again kind support and a replacement part. The issue was solved also using some tricks such anti-slip compound paste for aluminum-carbon and additional hose clamp (maybe installing a dropper post is the best). Bottom line: this is my first e-bike, I wanted to try e-biking, I was attracted by the (very) interesting price, and I fully achieved my goal with this product. I like it, I would buy it again despite the logistic issues (solved), also because I realized the manufacturer is actually committed to support customers. It is impossible now a deep review because e-bike is still almost new, possibly it lacks some “top-quality” or “top-performance” elements, but it really seems returning an exception value – full features - for the price. It is perfect if you are getting into e-biking and you want to enjoy some nature trails, some city bike trails, or short commuting. ... show more

  • A decent bike for the money.
For the price and comfort I will give it 5 stars. I purchased as a first e-bike at 61 years old to see if I would actually ride all the time. For $500 I thought I would take a chance. I have owned for about a month and have ridden almost every morning (90% of the mornings). Right now, I mainly stay in the subdivision and can actually do 10.3 miles out and back while hitting every culdesac and every hill. The type of riding I do is all paved and in 10.3 miles I do 1,063 feet in altitude change. So lots of step and long hills. Of course there are a few that I have to put effort to make it to the top. I have found that I only need to use PA5 on three of the steepest hills and use PA0 on flat or downhill. The rest of the hills I find that P3 conquers them well with some effort. That is why I am riding to get some workout. As far as battery goes, I usually go out twice before I need to charge and never had an issue getting back on the second day. I am 5'10 175 lbs and I would not want another bike that was any taller. After the first couple of rides I really thought it was going to be too big for an old man like me. But I have gotten use to it and am becoming more comfortable with the size. A big plus is the seat is surprisingly comfortable. I did inquire about returning because of the size and the customer service was very responsive and gave me the instructions. I did decide to keep. If I ever want to upgrade to a more expensive bike I would give to my youngest son. But for now I am going to keep riding this one. The only things I have had to address on the m50. I had to adjust the rear brakes and the gears. I found the gears would not go into 1st and 3 and 4th gears skipped back and forth sometimes. A few adjustments and all is good now. The front tire (not wheel) has a wobble, so I am thinking it is how tight the 2 zip ties were attached while packing. I have not messed with that yet, but hopefully will have time to try some things later. I did end up adding a phone mount bag, a rear rack mounted to the seat post, and rear brake light. I try to start my rides around 5:30 to 6:30 every morning, so I wanted a better light in the back. Only advice if your are considering is to be realistic in your expectations. These are not the best components installed on the M50. But they function fine and the bike seems to be doing great getting me from A to B and back again. I am satisfied with the quality they used on this bike at this price point. ... show more

  • Great bike/improvements needed
Color: Black Style: Big Kids Version
The bike is everything we were expecting. However, the battery life is somewhere between mid and poor. We’re constantly having to stop and charge.
