This was an unopened brand new unit. It was less money than than the indoor model. However, I did have to buy a cord and LB box to get power to it. So, that was another $10 fyi. I am still happy with it and it came quickly.

Other than the image used on Amazon, which is clearly an out of the box, used unit, the one I received was brand new in the box and with the exception of an extra set of wires not in my 20 year old unit, it perfectly replaced the old unit, right up to and including the mounting holes. The local plumbing supply house had this same unit at 3x the cost. Would love to support them but it's not like these things are cheap. ... show more

    • The housing used the same mounting holes as the original unit so installation was quick and easy
My original unit lasted about 40 years and I expect to get the same performance from the replacement unit. There were no changes to the instructions and operation. Delivery was super fast which was helpful during the heat wave.

My old 9 station controller died after 30 years. I tried to find the same again, as it had been very reliable and flexible (it died while I was changing out circuits to add electric vehicle charging circuits). Surprise! Everything had changed. This one is by the same manufacturer but with a different brand name, but it is a good as the old one. ... show more

    • Does Amazon even know the quality of the products they sell? Bring back Sears please.
I had to take the board in to get repaired after 4 months , it kept reading fus, after replacing the fus, it would continually pop up. The repair cost me 110.00. If I would buy this product again I would not buy it through Amazon, can u return a 300.00 product after 6 months . Idk, but if I would of bought this through my local farm supply, they would of fixed it free. Amazon can be smokin mirrors on some of there equipment ... show more

    • Great Controller and fairly easy to use, but...
I already had the same model that was installed with my original landscape about 10 years ago. Since I was used to the features of the old one (which had buttons and features that were now failing) and liked the way it operated, I ordered the same model as a replacement. I intended to just swap out the component portion and pop it into the old box. HOWEVER, beware, they changed the ribbon connecter so it won't fit! You have to change out the entire box (and rewire it). Fortunately, I got some help on this, or it would have been a very daunting task (even for a fairly handy guy). It's wonderful to have a fully functioning controller again! The timer, semi auto, and manual operations all work perfectly. ... show more
