    • Great substitute for the EcoZoom Versa Camping Stove
The media could not be loaded. I lived through the Texas February 2021, power outage. Like millions, for 5 days I had ZERO power and more than 200 people froze to death in their homes in the state (and that's a low estimate). My house went down to 45 degrees inside my house and I vowed to never be so cold again. In the last few weeks, I've been looking for a wood burning stove to use in case of an emergency (I already own a Coleman propane camping stove) and if I run out of propane. I week ago I bought one of those stainless steel box stoves that are 6" to 10" in size and I thought they looked cheap and wanted something more robust and looked into getting a rocket stove. After several hours of searching online, I chose the EcoZoom Versa Camping Stove and put it in my Amazon shopping cart but two days later, I found they all sold out everywhere and it was gone from my shopping cart. I had seen this Ironclad rocket stove during my search on Amazon. I also submitted a question to the seller asking if this stove had any ceramic liners but received no reply. With no reviews but liking the size, look and weight of this stove, I bit the bullet on Saturday (Oct 9th) purchased this stove for $109 and it was delivered the next day in a triple box! Upon opening all three boxes (I had no problems with a damaged box) and the carry sack, and finally getting to the stove, I found out this Ironclad stove appeared to indeed be stout, heavy, and the instructions said it did have ceramic liners to contain the heat in the stove. The stove is almost a foot tall, a foot wide on top with a heavy cast iron top, and seems very well made. I have attached a short vid to see my new stove. All in all, this seems like a great purchase and I know I can cook food and boil water when we have another catastrophic power outage event in Texas, like we had in Feb 2021. The price has gone up by $15 bucks and it now cost $125 but I think the quality of this small rocket stove makes it worth it. I expect more power outages in Texas in the near future because there aren't enough power plants in Texas. Most power plants in Texas are privately owned, our population is booming and there's just not enough energy to supply all the new households. We also aren't connected to the national grid. With the purchase of my Ironclad Rocket Stove and bit of wood, I have a small portable stove that will keep be fed for the next power outage in Texas. FYI, this is not a hiking stove because its too heavy at 10 pounds but would be great for picnics, at dedicated camp sites, RV camping, or emergency use. All you need is a bit of wood and a lighter. If the stove doesn't work well once the wood goes in, I will revise this review. Again, my item had no faults. ... show more

This rocket stove is amazing. I just used a handful of twigs from the yard along with some dryer lint to get it started, and it produced a very hot, very usable stove. It runs cool on the bottom so it didn't heat up my wooden patio. Total time to boil water in a standard 10 inch cast iron skillet was 5 minutes from cold water to full boil. Virtually zero smoke with it's combustion chamber re-burner design. It will leave a heavy soot deposit on your cookware. Comes with handy canvas bag and is surprisingly lightweight.     • The stove works as advertised!
I was very impressed by the quality of my Ironclad Supply Rocket Stove. I purchased it as an emergency stove to be used in the event of a significant seismic event or other disaster. Although it might seem obvious, the stove does a lot better with dry fuel that damp fuel. Keep some dry fuel handy so that you can get the stove hot and then through in your fir cones or whatever is handy. Although not consistent with the directions, I found that a hot fire was facilitated more easily with closing the fuel door and opening the bottom door (ash door) and dropping small bits of fuel into the top. This necessitates raising the cooking pot up off the top of the stove for a brief moment while you through in a hand full of fuel. Also you need to tend to the ash that collects at the bottom of the stove, scooping it out so the stove can breath. ... show more

This is not not my first rocket stove, I've owned an early model from when the concept was just being introduced. I bought two of these, one as a gift. The design is strong and much more efficient than what I have had, and lighter too. Someone listened to those reviews about enhancing the packaging as these arrived with no damage to the interior box or product. The extra wide lip on the cast iron cooking surface will increase stability when in use. Nice case included, and I suggest using the foam insert to add to the bottom of the canvas case to provide additional padding when you are transporting this over rough terrain. ... show more

Solid construction. Authentic durable goods. No nonsense, worth the money. Not meant for backpack type camping. Efficient, energy saver, easy to use once you get the hang of it.

I got this today, and it is well made, and sturdy, much better than the eco zoom i gave my sister after ordering this. I have no idea who the delivery person was, but they left this in front of my garage, which is quite far from my front door, and i had to go outside to find the package, because it was not left at my front door with a knock as per my instructions. I have a handicap ramp for a reason, and for the delivery person to see that, and not bring it to the door is inexcusable. Also someone removed the tracking info that showed it delivered to the carrier facility at 3:43 a.m., and that USPS transferred it to the delivery company, whoever that was. Had i not checked my order status, i would not have known it was outside. The thing weighs almost 24 pounds, and i asked my neighbor to carry it, because i have problems with my lsft arm, and couldn't carry it. I give this a 4 star until i have used it a bit, but will update, and then give my final rating. I don't blame the company for the delivery issue, but this could have easily been stolen, and that would have been a whole other mess. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Not had a chance to fire it up yet..but I am very impressed with the quality of it.. very nice rocket stove.. I'll get back when I get the stove fired up ... Ok had a chance to unpack get fired up perk a pot of coffee. Took less than 15 minutes from start untill it was perking.. good stuff While I was heating up the skillet to put on a couple of hamburgers looked down and the top had cracked..dang it I was hoping to have a lone affair with the Iron clad..I feel it a well made product..not sure why it cracked..only had those few little sticks in the stove.. ... show more
