  • Good and versatile storage unit!
Color: White
I was looking for a solution to the toy mess that I had going on in my dining room area and this piece of furniture was the answer. It holds almost all the toys and the house looks a lot more organized. It was easy to assemble because I didn’t have to do it, my husband did it 😆 and it took less than an hour. I didn’t see a lot of reviews on this product and was hesitant but I’m really happy I purchased it. ... show more

  • Provides extra pantry space when you need it.
Color: White
Overall, I am happy with this as an extra pantry. It took a little bit to arrive and was extremely heavy. I immediately took everything out of the box and placed like pieces together around the room. It was our nighttime TV project for a few weeks. The core goes together relatively easily. If you've ever put together a tall shelf, you will be familiar with the process. Two large sections with the sturdy thick piece in the middle. As soon as that is complete, you will think the hardest part is over. Not so. I'd say the most difficult is the doors. The instructions say to put the hinges on the door and then the doors on the unit. If I had to do it over, I would probably put the hinges on the unit and then attach the doors. Reason being, the doors are heavy, and the unit is particle board with small screws. You have one chance to get it right. The screws will not allow unscrewing and then reattaching, it will strip out the board. While there are 4 that need to be attached to the shelving unit, there are only 2 that need to be attached to the door. The second thing is that each door hardware piece is adjustable. Do not make the mistake of trying to adjust each door as you are putting them on. You'll drive yourself crazy. Instead, place all doors and then step back to take a look. You'll see some craziness as there will be large gaps between the doors and along the sides. Here's where the adjustments come in. Each bracket can be adjusted 3 ways. The first involves the main four screws. As advised before, you do not want to unscrew these after the first time, so ensure they are all even placed at the top and bottom. The second options allow the doors to come forward (back screws) so they clear the sides, and the third (middle screw) adjusts it left or right. We found it was best to adjust the middle screw almost all the way flush and then adjust the back screws about halfway. I am a little disappointed the hardware does not allow the doors to open any more than 90 degrees. This does limit loading of the pantry, especially on the doors with shelving. Speaking of, I would be careful to put anything of weight on those door shelves. The weight will pull on the hinges, and the hinges are only supported by the total of 12 small screws in particle board. It is a nice thought though. I'm also careful to only load semi heavy items on the middle thick shelf. The shelves are not adjustable, but this helps with the sturdiness as the shelves are locked in, providing support. All these warnings aside, I love the brilliant white. It looks great in a modern home with white trim. The material does attract fingerprints but wipes off. Instructions are decent, easy to follow and the pieces are all marked. The numbered stickers do need adhesive remover to come off cleanly. There is no glue needed on assembly, it uses the traditional locking cams. I am happy with it, I just hope I never have to move it as it is a large piece of furniture. But now I can keep my heavy items in my pantry, and my lighter items hidden in this beautiful shelf. ... show more

  • Poor quality.
Color: White
The cabinets are beautiful when put together, and the installation is fairly easy, but the poor quality is way below the price that you pay for them. The wood chips super easily when screwing in the screws and the boards crack easily. Definitely made a cheap particleboard. Before I could even put any food or anything in it, one of the shelves broke and I had to repair using traditional shelf hooks. The shelf broke simply when standing it up and mounting it to the wall, I did not step on it or anything. I set my drill on it, and it snapped due to cheap wood quality. ... show more

  • Assembly takes a while, but good instructions.
Color: White
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I wanted something to help organize network equipment and a place to charge gadgets that looked nice and hid wires from a surround sound. I chose these cabinets because of they layout and dimensions. We're using it in the living room, but it would work well in the kitchen. I've never gotten something like this delivered, it was surprisingly compact, but very very heavy. The outside of the box was scuffed and torn up and in some places exposing the wood. However it was well packed enough that there was no significant damage and all of the parts were accounted for. I do feel bad for the delivery driver, since you really need two people to move the box and I'm sure they did it by themselves. Once assembled it looks quite nice. The hinges give you a few ways to adjust them, which is good because at first the doors did not line up right, but I was able to get things to look a lot better by tweaking the hinges. The storage capacity is decent, though I don't want to put too much weight in it, especially on the higher shelves. Despite being basically particle board, it does seem sturdy and I was able to get all of the hardware attached without any major damage. Assembly is time consuming, especially if you are careful (which you need to be) not to over tighten anything. The instructions are mostly picture based, but they are detailed. The assembly guide is just about a book. It's intimidating at first until you realize that each page is a large diagram that illustrates each part needed and orientation in detail, but usually describes a simple step. I greatly appreciate the attention to detail in that assembly guide. A battery powered drill is a must, but use a lower setting to make sure not to strip the screws or damage the composite wood. There are a lot of places I used a manual screw driver anyway just to make sure. Another consideration is that you'll need a decent amount of floor space and two people. The top and bottom are assembled separately, then joined together. You absolutely need a second person to help with that stage. I was impressed at how well the pre-drilled holes lined up. The few times something seemed to be the wrong size or mis-aligned it was because I was doing it wrong! I like that the cabinet doors don't slam shut, the hinges allow the doors to close easily, but stop about an inch from fully closing then slowly drift closed from there. They don't always close all the way on their own, but pretty close. The shelves are not adjustable, however I took some liberties with the back board. It was fairly easy to cut since it's much thinner material than the shelves and walls. I was able to add some airflow and wire pass-throughs for network equipment and a charging station. Without opening up the back this would not be a good option for any electronics that generate heat as it seals things up too well. For dishes or shelf stable food this is ideal, it would help to keep out dust and whatnot. I'm just adapting this for my use-case. ... show more
