  • Just the right size but somewhat heavy.
Size: Nikon F Mount
I like the extreme quality of the lens, giving sharp images.

  • Great Lens!
Size: Nikon F Mount
I've always liked macro, so before I started taking a macro class I began looking for a lens I knew I would need. I came across this lens and began a little research. I found nothing but good reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm very happy I did. The fit, finish and overall aesthetics were awesome. The 150mm gives me enough focal distance so I'm not on top of my subject. The clarity resolution etc. were top notch - quality all the way! It is more than competitive with the more expensive lenses. I am so glad I found this not only for it's performance but also for the price. ... show more

  • Love love love this lens.
Size: Nikon F Mount
The versatility of this lens is amazing. I love it. Only minor 'issue' is the weight but the photos make it more than worth it. I've taken some of my best photos with it. Bit of learning curve since there's no auto focus but absolutely positively worth every penny. My son that loves to photograph wildlife was never into macro and he as blown away by this lens. I had to force him to try it but he was hooked. I think I might have to get him his own!! Love this lens. 100%. ... show more

  • A Good Value Macro Lens
Size: Nikon F Mount
I purchased this because I am kind of tired of using extension tubes and I wanted a solid macro lens. This lens is manual focus, which can make handheld shooting of close-ups a bit difficult with the very narrow depth of focus. The f/2.8 max aperture is nice as you need lots of light for close-ups to get a fast shutter. I took it out hand-held to shoot some bugs on some bright yellow flowers in the morning and was able to get good results handheld even with a slight breeze. Shot with Nikon D750. There is no lens correction profile in LightRoom yet if you are concerned about that, but i really didn't see much need for correction. I would recommend this for the native mount, but I can't speak for the people having problems with an adapter. ... show more

  • Difficult to remove from my Nikon D7500
Size: Nikon F Mount
I love this lens. It is tack sharp. However, it is very difficult to remove from my D7500. Mounting it on my D7100 leaves little room to hold camera by it's grip. Solved problems by placing a 12mm extension tube on back of lens.

  • Extremely poor mechanical construction.
Size: Nikon F Mount
Lens would not mount on Nikon F mount - significant binding. Tried 2 cameras, an FTZ adapter and several extension tubes, all of which work properly with over a dozen of my F mount lenses.. The flange next to the electrical contacts on the IRIX prevented rotation of the lens to mount - visible marks on the flange (anodizing abraded showing bare metal) from trying. Very poor mechanical construction and total lack of any quality control. Could not request a replacement due to difficult IRIX return procedures on Amazon. DO NOT BUY IRIX PRODUCTS. And make sure that anything you buy is directlly from Amazon and not another independent vendor like IRIX.. Hope I will get my refund eventually. ... show more
