I picked this 10-lb IRIS airtight storage container to hold my homemade laundry powder, and it’s exactly what I was looking for. The locking lid clicks down firmly and keeps the scent locked in. I filled it yesterday, and my mix still smells fresh and strong. The tall, narrow design saves space in my laundry area, and the clear sides make it easy to see when I’m running low. Right now it’s holding a full batch of my powder with scent boosters (see photos), and there’s still room for the scoop to rest on top without disappearing under the mix. The wheels are a nice bonus, making it easy to pull out from under the shelf even when it’s heavy. Build quality feels sturdy, and there’s no flex in the plastic when it’s full. I’m using this for wild bird food. It is a nice size, large enough to hold a fair amount of food, but small enough to lift and carry without much effort. The seal is not super tight but it is good enough for the application. Only possible concern is with the toughness of the material and the hinges. The first shipment was damaged, broken hinge on one side, perhaps from nocking around in the box during travel. This is one of the smartest ideas I have seen. Because I suggested we get one, I became smarter too and got words of appreciation from the family. Not only does it hold a couple dry food bags, you put a box of the wet food cans in it too. It's perfect for sitting next to the area where we feed the cats, and with the lid the kittens that were tearing up the bags when delivered or in pantry are no longer putting teeth marks, scratches, or tears in the bags. First order arrived with the lid unattached. I tried but could not get it on by myself so I ordered another. Both are lacking the product labeling shown in the photos. Both also have a flimsy foam gasket with gaps and notches cut. Since the container is cheap, I can replace the gasket with something better quality. It is not airtight plus the little gaps will allow moisture and insects to get in. I plan to put the food bag inside and roll it down over my dehydrated food... just in case. But it just the right size to fit the 7lb box of Honest Kitchen and fits nicely into the small space I have with a bit of extra room to add a scoop. ... show more
