    • EXCELLENT unit! BEST customer service!!
First review: From 2016, this is the 5th tens unit I've tried. I've never tried another since. It's the smallest to carry around, and I love the way it works! I have 2 units which both seemed to quit on the same day (I usually keep one in my purse for backup). I called iReliev - BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! - and Mike figured out it was probably the wires (makes sense if both units quit on the same day - duh!) He then spent a good amount of his time figuring up weight and contacting Fed Ex to find out how much it would cost to overnight. I will be sitting (sitting = pain) waiting for them. He also made a great suggestion when I asked about sending another unit overnight just to be on the safe side. Thank you so much, Mike! Lizzy Update: 8.6.2022 Still use this almost daily, but usually only 2-5 hours at a time. I have 3 now. One stays in my car, one at a loved one's home, and one either "on" my hips or on my dresser. For the first 2 years, I would drop the unit ~ 5-10 times/week because I didnt always use the clip , nor would I keep it in my pocket while sitting. The back would pop off, but the unit still worked. One unit finally quit working on one side only. I have had these units since 2016 and I wear one almost every single day. After landing on the hardwood or tiled floor so many times, I can't believe they still work!!! The only con I would have is something that's probably due to my sensitive skin and the fact that I perspire quite a bit. I will sometimes get sores on my hips if I wear them for an extended period of time, especially if I sweat a lot while wearing them. (For example, gardening in the hot and humid south.) I've learned to wash the area with alcohol before applying the pads, and to change them as soon as I finish. I cannot recommend these highly enough. I've spoken to several people who have said they've tried it, but it didn't work for them. I believe that they only tried it for a short while. The first time I tried it, it was only for about 10 minutes. I didn't really give it a good chance. I would suggest that you try it for at least one hour, at the highest level you can use (without actually hurting). I normally use it in therapy mode setting of P3 at a power level of 12 for at least an hour or 2. It continues to help block the pain signals the longer I have it on. I also use it a night if I can't fall asleep due to pain. It uses 3 AAA batteries. You can use rechargeable. I tried Amazon batteries; they do not last! Duracell batteries last a long time. I actually place the pads exactly where my pain is, one on each hip. It says to place it on either side of the pain, but the "buzzing" ON my pain works for me. Try different things out. I can't speak highly enough of this as an aid to block pain, in addition to or in place of pain medication. Update: 11.11.23: Still going strong! I've replaced wires (which are approximately $4.00 each) and pads (which are ~ $ .50 each). I'm pretty sure it's still the smallest unit out there. I've also had some issues with my back, and I use my iRelieve for relief there, as well. Do not use on your spine. The unit, with pads, wires, clip, drawstring bag, and manual is $29.95 at thie time.     • The best home-use TENS available
I bought another highly rated TENS unit on Amazon, but rarely used it because it was so difficult to see the screen (tiny and gray, low contrast) and navigating the menu was difficult and confusing. I got this one because of the screen. Large, simple, easy to read. I use it every day. I made the mistake of thinking it was broken when the unit wouldn't respond and seemed stuck. I almost threw it out, but it turned out that this is what happens when the pads lose their connection and/or adhesive. I think it can also happen if batteries are low. I have had this happen several times and ALWAYS the unit works perfectly after I change the pads. This machine is so good and like no other I have found that I was even going to purchase the same thing despite annoyance at it "breaking"....... ... show more

    • I really didn't want to have to buy this, but...
My wife has been using an Empi Epix tens unit ever since she was injured in a car accident back in the 90s. Obviously - in terms of tech devices - her Empi is now an electronic dinosaur...but it still works. We had to reorder pads recently and chose the pads offered on Amazon by Syrtenty, which worked just fine. She then thought we ought to order new wires as well, since her current set are, I think, as old as the tens unit itself. I suppose since we're talking about tens units I shouldn't be surprised that I got a shock. but the shock was to my wallet. Electrode wires to fit the Empi unit run roughly thirty bucks per pair...and there are two pairs. That would mean I'd have to shell out sixty bucks - just to replace the electrode wires! On top of that, I inspected the pictures of each and every electrode wire claiming compatibility with the Empi Epix offered on Amazon and I am certain that none of them would actually work with her unit. Hers has jacks connecting to the unit that are the RCA type - like a small stereo headphone jack. But every photo on every product offered showed a sort of shielded jack that simply could not fit her tens unit. Even though her Empi still did the job for her, given the cost of new wires and the near certainty that they wouldn't even connect to her unit, I decided it was time to look for an entirely new unit. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there are many now available at very low cost. When she first got hers it was over three hundred bucks - and you had to have a doctor's prescription and buy it through the doctor. We decided on this one based on both the generally excellent reviews and the small size - comparable - but even a bit smaller than her Empi. We have not been one bit disappointed. First of all - and most importantly - it works every bit as well as (and is far more versatile than) her old Empi. Second, the Syrtenty pads we bought for her Empi also fit this unit. Third, it uses AAA batteries as opposed to the 9V her Empi used which saves money. And finally, this tens unit - complete with the necessary electrode wires and two sets of pads - cost far less than what it would have cost just to replace the wires on her old Empi! Altogether, this was an extremely good buy on a versatile tens unit that works exactly as it should and seems to be very well made. Well done! ... show more

I got this recommendation from some chiropractor on youtube. Not bad for the price. Works good, I just try to not turn it up to too much or else it starts to sting but overall I like it.
