  • Ballhead isnt perfect, but it does a good job. Quick Release plate sucks
Style: Hybrid Head, Black Configuration: Compact Action 61"
Super light and sturdy tripod! Really small footprint, comes in a nice little bag, and extends very high. Perfect for eye level on most people. Can easily be attached to a backpack on a hike or something. The ballhead is hit or miss tho, you have to be really deliberate with the locking wheel to create just enough resistance to get a smooth pan or tilt. Ive found if you tighten the wheel some before you pan, it helps create a better pan. The quick release plate sucks, it jingles around in there UNTIL you connect it to something that has a large enough surface area to hold it to the head of the tripod. Kinda hard to explain but essentially you need to screw the QR button to something that has a large diameter than the screw and the hole it goes into. This will sit it securely on the top of the head of the tripod without any wiggle after you tighten it down. You can buy knockoff Quick Release Buttons for this tripod for like 7 bucks on Ebay which is better than paying 20 for a button with a screw thread on it from Manfrotto. Thats what ill be doing as i can see myself losing the one that came with the tripod or needing more than 1. Good tripod overall, i love how small it is and is great for beginners or people with small cameras like me (GoPros work great) ... show more

  • Exacty what I wanted.
Style: Hybrid Head, Black Configuration: Compact Action 61"
It does exactly what it is supposed to do and it's very easy to use. The materials are high quality, it doesn't seem like it's going to break easily. You can set it in almost any position you want. The only bad thing for me is that it's a bit heavy.

  • A bit flimsy, even for Apple iPhones
Style: Ball Head, Black Configuration: Compact Light 51"
When I first got this it felt very flimsy, and it is. After using it, I would not use this in any sort of windy situations. Sure is is very lightweight, but you get what you pay for. The ball head isn't removable, and the tripod can easily blow over - iPhone can act like a sail. I have since gone back to my Manfrotto Befree Tripod, which is very solid and can hold a medium size DSLR camera, and is only 500g heavier, but much more stable. ... show more

  • Important tip for use with Manfrotto Pro model phone clamp
Style: Hybrid Head, Black Configuration: Compact Action 61"
I bought this tripod for iPhone photography when I want to travel light and leave my DSLR at home. This is the case more and more as mobile phone cameras improve dramatically. One of the recommended options when purchasing this tripod is the Manfotto Smartphone Clamp, Pro Version (MCPIXI). These are a great combo for low light or long exposure smartphone photography if you purchase one additional item at the hardware store. You will need a stainless steel 1/4 by 1-1/4 fender washer to fit between the narrow clamp bottom and the tripod quick release โ€œbuttonโ€ as shown in the photos. This washer spans the 1 inch hole of the lever release system in the top plate of the tripod. My washer set me back 55 cents and provides a rock solid mount of MCPIXI clamp to the Compact Action tripod. Iโ€™ve attached pictures showing what I described. ... show more

  • It's not the amazing deal it seems. It's exactly what it seems.
Style: Hybrid Head, Black Configuration: Compact Action 61"
I, like many other reviewers, was surprised by the cheap and light duty feel of this tripod. It is LIGHT DUTY (rated for like 3 LB cameras or as they say "entry level dslr"?) and it is CHEAP, we all generally expect to pay $200+ for even a modest tripod from Manfrotto. So don't be too disappointed when you get EXACTLY what you payed for. What you may come to realize is not that you are disappointed by the tripod but more surprised that Manfrotto is taking on the entry level, throw-away or "i-phoneographer" market that everyone else has been getting rich from. This is not a smoking hot deal, you haven't stumbled across an undervalued gem. It is what it is, plastic and metal and rivets with what I hope is years of experience in equipment design that won't disappoint for my light duty camera needs. And yes, you can shoot with the head upside down for low to the ground shots. It deserves 5 stars but I take one away because despite it all, I'm a little disappointed anyway... UPDATE after a week of use: I am trying to make this work with 6d+35mm for videos and it is NOT the appropriate tool. Very shaky, impossible to make slight adjustments and overall the WRONG tool. This is the same results as when I tried a $30 tripod from best buy and expecting it to be something it is not. The only difference is when used properly (with a mobile device, not a dslr) it will probably last forever. ... show more

  • It's great
Style: Hybrid Head, Black Configuration: Compact Action 61"
I was worried after reading the reviews but this tripod is great. It's sturdy and light weight and was quite affordable. I'm very happy with this tripod.

  • Super light weight but head has a very cheap plasticky feel
Style: Hybrid Head, Black Configuration: Compact Action 61"
The stand overall serves its purpose, however the head has a very cheap Plasticky feeling to it, and the quick release Manfroto ball isnโ€™t too stable as well.
