I use my ipad to do Bible studies a lot and also journal. I dont like that you cant swipe down or up with the pen to get to notifications or the shortcuts drawer, you also cant use certain buttons like if there is a text box that has an x to erase the text you have to use your finger. I have no experience with the real apple pencil yet, but I can’t imagine it working much better than this stylus. Im curious to see how well the pressure sensor on the real apple pencil works because I guess thats the main feature this pen does not have. Ill be using this til the price of the apple one comes down

Excellent alternative to the expensive version. My twin 11 year old boys received iPads for Xmas and they use these pens constantly. I love that they wirelessly charge so we don’t have dead pens and they are always magnetically attached.

The ease of use.

It worked really well for a few months but then it started messing up on me. Now, every time I try to turn it on and use it, it’ll write for a few seconds and then it’ll disconnect but my Bluetooth says it’s still connected and fully charged. I tried changing out the end piece to a new one, I tried charging it all night, turning it off and back on, and disconnecting it from my iPad and reconnecting it again and nothing worked. If possible, I would just invest in a better quality Apple Pencil instead of trying to get a cheaper version and it stops working on you after a couple months.

I have never owned an Apple brand pencil so I can’t compare the two but I do know that this one gets the job done for me. My iPad doesn’t support the wireless charging but I don’t mind plugging it in and the charge lasts a long time. I use it primarily to write patterns while I’m crocheting or to mark off rows on patterns that I’m following. It’s nice to be able to write notes directly on the digital pattern that way if the project gets set aside for a while you know exactly where you left off. My only gripe is that I wish it didn’t time out after 5 minutes and the “long” press to turn it on didn’t take so long. I find myself counting 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand when holding the button down because so many times I’ve tried to turn it on and haven’t held it down long enough. That’s just me though, not really a poor reflection on the pencil. I think it’s a great value and perfect if you want to see what they’re all about without spending a ton of money.
