  • This pencil is shockingly capable.
I have recently learned that having an Apple Pencil and a 2 year old…is a dangerous combination. I have always been ultra-focused on keeping track of my Apple Pencil. I am not an artist but I do work in the creative field. I don’t use my pencil everyday. But that days that I do, it is an essential part of my workflow. I am a video producer and use my 12.9 inch iPad Pro while I am conducting interviews. During the interviews I use the Apple Pencil to take notes, mark off questions, and jot down anything that is important. I went to prepare for work the other day and my pencil was GONE. I searched the house. 4 times. Eventually I gave up. Out of panic, I ordered another Apple Pencil. They are NOT cheap. I have always struggled with how much they cost considering how little I use it (compared to visual artists). After placing the order, I remembered an article I read on The Verge about 3rd party Apple Pencil alternatives. I figured I had nothing to lose, thanks to Amazon’s easy return policy. When this pencil arrived, I was shocked at how much it looked like the original one. It looks and feels almost the same, except it is a little bit lighter. It magnetically attaches to the side of my iPad and charges just like the Apple one. Writing on the screen is just as fast and smooth. I see absolutely no difference in performance. When I am highlighting notes and I turn this pencil sideways, it widens the breadth of where it is highlighting just like a real highlighter. I have always thought this was a cool feature of the Apple Pencil and this product is no different. My iPad battery widget shows the charge level just like the real one. The only feature lacking is pressure sensitivity. This pencil can’t tell how hard you are pressing down on it. But I find this to be 0% a problem for me at all. The pressure sensor is mainly used by visual artists who are drawing or painting with it. Someone who just takes notes has no need for the pressure feature. I honestly didn’t even know that was a feature until I lost mine and started looking at alternatives. There is one thing that slightly irks me about this product (and it is not a big deal at all). You have to wake it up when you first remove it from the iPad. I have found that this takes less than one second. When I remove it, I let go and allow it to snap back onto the magnets briefly. Then the light comes on and I pick it up again and use it. It has only been a few days and I am already used to doing this I don’t feel like it slows me down at all. If I know I am going to be taking a bunch of notes, I just leave it off the magnets until I’m done. There is one major advantage compared to the Apple branded pencil. Because this one needs to be woken up, the battery is preserved when it is not attached to the iPad. The Apple version tends to die in my backpack if I don’t have it attached to the side of the magnets. The “always on” nature of it means that it is always using a little juice even as it jostles around in my backpack. But this pencil, does not lose any charge unless you are writing with it. It can bounce around my backpack for days and not loose even a single % of charge. Unless you are very into drawing on your iPad, this is a no brainer. It is $100 USD cheaper and does almost everything the Apple version costs. I have since found my missing Apple pencil but I still use this one as my primary. Because it costs so much less, I don’t live in fear every day that I am going to lose it. If I do, it is not the end of the world. If you’re considering getting this, give it a try. You’ll love it. ... show more

  • Pencil is great. Awesome price but!!
The media could not be loaded. I just bought this pencil in black and have another white one on its way that it will probably be returned. The issue for me specifically is that pencil technically does work. And can be used with the iPad Pro M4 2024 but it will not charge wirelessly. Since it is not compatible with the wireless charger of the new 2024 iPads. FYI. Please check. If you have the new iPad Pro M4 2024 the pencil has a hard time attaching like it does not align well with magnets. And also it does not charge wirelessly. Sadly this pencil can only be charged wirelessly. Keep that in mind. And runs around that is to have an old iPad solely to charge the pencil. But if you have previous version of the iPad Pro. This is an EXCELLENT PENCIL!! I love the pencil. So if it is a previous version of the iPad Pro. Just don’t think twice about it. It is a great product. ... show more

  • Great Apple Pencil 2 Alternative
I'm very satisfied with this pencil for the iPad Pro and Air. This is a wireless charging version, which only works with the later models of iPad Pro and Air, which support wireless pencil charging. It sticks to the side of my iPad Pro, charges, and stays in place while carrying/charging. Visually, you cannot tell it apart from the Apple-branded pencil, although there are a few differences. The biggest difference is that this pencil does not support the pressure sensitivity feature of the Apple Pencil 2. I don't draw, so this doesn't matter to me, but to artists, it will be important. However, it does have the palm rejection feature, so you can rest your palm on the iPad surface as you draw or write, without you hand being mistaken for input. If you use the iPad's standard Battery widget, you can see the battery charge status of the pencil. The next difference is that you turn this pencil on by holding down on a button on top of the pencil. The pencil then turns off automatically after about two minutes. I think this is an improvement over Apple's pencil, because it keeps the battery from dying if you forget to put it back on the iPad. You can tap and double-tap on the button to activate shortcuts to hide the current app or to bring up the app browser. This is a little different from the Apple Pencil shortcuts, but still useful. Handwriting recognition with Scribble works fine, and it's great for manipulating sliders in Adobe Lightroom and similar apps, which is the main reason why I bought it. I'm definitely glad that I bought this instead of the Apple-branded pencil, and if you don't need the pressure sensitivity feature, I strongly recommend it. ... show more

  • Solid pencil.
Color: Pink
Very nice pencil but it has no pressure sensitivity for drawing. If you don't need it for that, it is a solid choice for an Ipad pencil.

  • Exceptional Value for Money
I recently purchased the iPad Pencil 2nd Generation with Magnetic Wireless Charging, and I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase. Despite the name brand price tag, I managed to snag this gem for just under $30. It’s clear that the high price is largely for the brand name, but this product delivers far beyond its cost. The box included the pencil, two tips, and clear instructions on how to connect it. Although the QR code for the lifetime warranty seemed to have expired, I was promptly contacted by the company via email confirming the warranty. This proactive customer service was a pleasant surprise. Setting up the pencil was a breeze. It arrived fully charged and turning it on was as simple as tapping the top until it glowed green. The performance of the pencil exceeded my expectations. It works smoothly, without any issues, making my iPad interactions seamless and enjoyable. In conclusion, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. The iPad Pencil 2nd Generation offers great value for its price, easy setup, and outstanding performance. I would highly recommend it to anyone in search of a reliable and affordable alternative to expensive brand-name products. ... show more
