  • It really IS too good to be true!
Like others have said this is "too good to be true"! As a sufferer of gout, sometimes it becomes too painful to walk. This year, an infection in my right foot caused a gout attack on my left, leaving me bedridden for a whole month. I was making multiple trips to the doctors to get things diagnosed and checked and crutches did not make the pain or the trip any easier! Once the pain was unbearable on both feet, I decided to go out and purchase a wheelchair to use instead, as well as to have if a similar issue ever occurs in the future. Since I have never thought of or purchased a wheelchair before, I was relying solely on the information given in the description and reviews. After much searching, this seemed to be the best. I was a bit skeptical at first since the price was so low! Other wheelchairs similarly priced always had some issue that made them not ideal. They would be too small, don't come with feet rests or the feet rests weren't height adjustable, the wheels and other parts were made with cheap materials. This was the only one with high reviews as well as good mentions on all these areas! The final thing that sold me was when I tried looking at wheelchair rentals instead. The local places that rented out wheelchairs used these ones! When it finally arrived, right out of the box I could feel the quality. Unfolding it was easy and noticed right away how sturdy it was. However, it was NOT heavy and hard to move around! Surprisingly light for a good quality wheelchair. The best part is how roomy the seat is, but the wheelchair as whole wasn't as big. I was scared getting a bigger seat like 20" would make it difficult to go through the narrow corridors of our old house, but the wheels didn't add much width and was able to get around fine. I used it for my final trip to the doctor (before I was able to walk again) and it was the most pleasant experience I could get from a hospital visit. Lastly, I read in other reviews that sitting in the seat for a prolonged time could get uncomfortable, but I was in the waiting room for a few hours and it wasn't at all bad. I don't usually have problems sitting in the same seat for prolonged periods unless its a hard seat like wood or plastic. So if you are like the others, I would just suggest getting a seat cushion to solve this small issue. There is nothing else I could think of and this wheelchair is too good of a deal to pass up! ... show more

  • Worth it....don't be worried, it is a real wheelchair, and a great value if you cannot get through insurance
After hearing about $2000 for a wheelchair, at least that is what Medicare gets billed for one, I was very concerned about what we'd get. Due to an illness, expected to be temporary, I wanted to get one of these for short term use. Rentals were beat up and cost $100/month, and I expected that for what I'd spend on a rental, I might as well just purchase one, and hold onto it, just in case I ever needed it. It arrived in a big box, was fully assembled, but was missing the leg rests. I contacted the seller and they are in the process of sending out the leg rests. That aside, the color is different from what is shown - it has silver/black painted frame, and black seat/back. It isn't blue. If you were hoping for blue, it is no longer made with that color, per the seller. Anyway, it isn't the lightest (35lbs or so), and it isn't able to do more than a max weight of 250lbs, but to be honest, this is fine. I've seen this brand, Invacare, at hospitals, doctors offices, etc. So I was familiar with the name, just not sure why it was so inexpensive. I've used it today and it saved the day. It was sturdy, rolls with ease, and can fold up and put in the back of a smaller car without too much hassle. Like I said, it isn't the lightest, but I'm a big boy and can handle it. If the person who needs it has to do this themselves, I'd look for something lighter. So, if you are looking for an inexpensive wheelchair, go for it. It is not a disappointment and frankly I'm wondering how the seemingly same wheelchair can cost so much more when using insurance? ... show more

  • Great product from Amazon!
My wife is mobility limited from an illness, uses a walker, but presently needs a wheelchair for shopping in large stores, or on recreational walks on paved surfaces. Since her mobility problems may not be permanent, I didn't want to spend a fortune on a chair right now. I was very pleased with the quality of this chair for the price. It appears to be well built, it's a nice dark blue color and attractive looking, lightweight, folds easily and the footrests remove easily for stowing it in a vehicle. It's exactly what we needed for our purposes and a great value for the price. Depending on how you will use it, note the following: The armrests are stationary and do not fold down. We bought the 20" model, it's roomy, but wide for doorways in older homes. Before purchasing, check the total width of the chair from outer wheel to outer wheel, and your doorway widths, if you need to use it indoors. My wife noted if she used it for long periods, she would want to get a rigid cushion to place on top of the folding seat for comfort. If these aren't problems for you, then I'd recommend this product! ... show more
