  • Used daily for 8 months so far, love it
Fits under our lanai in SW Florida, used daily by older couple. Set to 100 degrees so we can spend 30 minutes at a time soaking in the Florida late evening looking at the sky with the lights out. Have used since we got it in Oct ‘23, now June ‘24. Great value for the cost, which is 1/10th of fiberglass for 6-person class ( this is the 85-inch, 290 gal. Model). Comments: 1) for the first 5 months, had to pump up the walls every 3-4 days. Easy to do, a minor nuisance. Couldn’t find a definitive leak even spraying around soapy water. Fiddled with the air valve a few times, but now I’ve only added air a couple of times in 3 months. Perhaps the valve took a while to seat fully, or maybe there was an effect from cooler nights. Whatever the reason I’m happy the walls stay firm. 2) the insulated top is heavy and a chore to put on/off every night. It’s worth it in terms of preserving the water temp, and in keeping children out when you are not around. Though a chore, Don’t rush; work your way around pulling up just an inch or two at first, pulling up the side opposite the motor, then folding it in half over the center of the spa. Pull the motor side up and fold it on top of the first half. Take one end of the now narrow width, fold it over the center, then slide the cover to the side , tucking it beyond the spa wall where you don’t need to walk. For me, that is between the spa and the house wall, which has a gap of about 20”. Putting back on is the reverse, faster when my wife helps. 3) I use test strips every day, waterpro pool & spa, 7 in 1, 150 strips/bottle. I’ve been able to keep the water clear and safe, using small amounts of chemicals to tweak the results when needed. Using a bromine table in a floating ball, occasional half doses of compatible shock or bromine oxidizer. Periodically check the results with the free testing by the pool chemical supply stores like Leslie’s in SWFL. Note: when filling the spa/pool for the first time, take a sample to the testing place to learn what needs to be changed. Also consider putting an in-line water filter on the hose to fill the spa. 4) for us, the air bubbles are mostly too noisy and don’t provide much massage. The air comes in through 170 holes around the floor perimeter at the base of the spa. If you jam your butt against the seam, you do get some massage action, but it is not very rewarding. 5) the heater is adequate, which is what you want for safety. When you sit in it, your 98 degree selves raise the water level (4” for 2 people), showing your considerable mass. You cool it off a couple of degrees in 30 minutes. If you have the air on, you are pumping ambient air temperature through the water, cooling it off. If you had a heater powerful enough to quickly fight those effects, scalding water would be emitted from the heater output. 6) spa has been filtering continuously for 8 months except for a couple of vacation breaks. Heater is also usually on except when we are not using the spa for medical reasons. Have cleaned or replaced the filters every 4-6 weeks. Never have seen an error code. This model does not have a timer. ... show more
