Good at Heating Pool. TERRIBLE quality.
The good: 4 of these did a great job heating our 3000 gallon pool. I estimate it increased the temp by 10-12° in the Pacific Northwest. The note-worthy: We had to increase our pump capacity to use 4 solar panels and the Intex skimmer. The bad: 2 of them failed at the seams within 6 weeks, causing 1/3 of the pool water to leak out each time. We took great care to protect these, but they failed anyway. Neither Intex nor the seller would refund our money, which is disappointing since I don't want to risk losing so much water in the pool and wrecking our pump if the water level gets too low.

They work!
Have two of these on a 5000 gal above ground pool in Missouri. It does make a difference. They need to be mounted at the same level as the pool... I tried mounting 5' over the pool and my pump wasn't strong enough to push the water through. I have used for 6 weeks now. I expect it to last 2 summers... I would not expect it to last 4 summers. Update 7/2024. One heater sprung a leak last summer (makes a great trunk liner now). The other one is still going strong.

Buy something better, or hang this up so it isn’t on the ground.
Leaks, or at least develops a leak, half my pool drained. Everything else is good about it, the fittings are good—they didn’t leak. But the material just can’t stand up to the typical usage. Intex pools are often installed on the ground, where else do you put the solar collector? Guess what happens when you have a plastic bag being vibrated on the ground? Yep, you get a smoothed area, that if it isn’t thick enough becomes a hole.

it's ok. need to run a bunch and set up properly to see a difference.
these are not as bad as everyone says. i think people don't understand you have to monitor the back pressure with the valves. it's best to also add another ball valve from the pump to the first mat. then slowly control the flow until the air pockets have been forced out of the mat. if you don't do this, the valves will pop off and you will get leaks everywhere. I run 3 in series and see about a 7 degree increase between the input and output temp. I may add a 4th to get a little more. Don't expect miracles, but if you run it all day for several days in a row it helps.

Solarpool heater also gr8 for hot tubs
A almost free form of hot water for my hot tub, anyone who has a hot tub knows just running the pumps can cost a electrical fortune never mind now adding the electrical heating element. I have these 3 heated Matt's on my garage roof ( its a flat roof, 4 ft higher that the tubs location), and the matts are a black heavy durable gauge rubber vinyl material, they are made to be hooked up in series. You pump into the first one it then flow to the second and to the 3rd and back to the tub, I connected a half inch in diameter hose into the return port of my filter system, it just happend to push right in! I had a step down adaptor 1 inch to .5 inch that fit directly into the input hose of the matts system, since im already running the filter, I don't even need another pump, the return pressure from my tubs return is plenty of pressure to flow thru these matts. I got a little fancy I added a ball valve to the system for when the tub is JUST rite! I would also imaging these would be great on a pool , this company also sells a Kool little pump system separately if needed to pump thru the Matt's or back to the pool directly... hey Amazon has a great return policy if you keep it neat and don't abuse it. I bet you'll like it good luck hope this helps

Solar Panel
I was really happy with this solar heater at first. It worked well and helped warm our pool, but unfortunately it only lasted about a month and a half before it started leaking really badly. We lost a significant amount of pool water before realizing just how much was coming out of the panels. As you can see from the photos, this wasn’t just a small drip — there was water all over our patio. For something that is supposed to be used outdoors with a pool, I expected it to last much longer than six weeks. I’m extremely disappointed because I liked it while it was working, but losing this much pool water because of a leak is unacceptable. 😩

Do NOT waste your time or money on this!!!!
We purchased with the hopes to raise our water temp, but all it did was drain water out of the pool because of a hole that was in the mat. On top of losing money off this defective product, we had to pay to get our pool filled back up. Do not waste your time or money.

Not worth the money
This product slows the output flow of the pump, which makes the expensive pump I bought work as well as a pump that comes with the pools (not very well in case you're wondering). I bought 2 mats, thinking it would be better than 1. The mats only hold so much water. Once that water enters your pool, there's no more warm water for the pool. I'd have to buy 6 more to actually heat the water.
