A standard pool of this size needs a pool pump that can cycle the water through at a turnover rate of 32 gpm. This pump only does 13 gpm. We bought a better pump and added a skimmer to it. This whole pool is awesome though especially for the price

BUYER BEWARE!!!! the ladder only has a 90 day warranty from the purchase date and it WILL RUST NOT SOON AFTER. I have purchased my pool on 4/7/2020 and I have noted rust 5 months later. When I called Intex I was politely told that the warrantee was already expired and that I could purchase another ladder as they had them in stock!! yippee!!! like I would buy another crappy ladder from them. To my surprise I was also told that the ladder is not meant to be left inside the pool as is water resistant not water proof, I asked where was there mention about this in the manual and I was told that it mentioned in the part that refers to safety, I told the agent that they should spell this out as an owner of a household where two 40 year olds live and there are no children nor pets that could accidentally go in the pool and drown there is not reason for me to take the ladder in and out every single time I go in and out of the pool, perhaps it they should have said "remove the ladder as it will rust" then I might have done so to extend its life. The pool itself it has been otherwise good. The assembly is really easy and the key is to have a level terrain. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars in getting a 3rd party pad to put underneath as the cheap tarp it comes included will also dissolved in matter of few short months. IMPORTANT: If you don't want to waste a fortune in chemicals also note that you will need to run the pump while it is sunny out so basically from 9 AM to 5 PM. At the beginning I was running it overnight since the instructions specifically said that you should run the pump when nobody is in the pool for safety reasons. I am not a vampire and do enjoy the pool while the sun is out so I figure I would run the pump for 9 hours once everyone would be out of the pool (after 11 pm). After spending quite a bit of money at the local pool supply store in a crazy fight to keep the levels normal (battle that I was costly and graciously loosing) I was asked at what time of the day I was running the pump. I told the clerk that I was a good boy and followed instructions and shared what the manual said but was quickly educated that the sun breaks down the chlorine molecules and that is what was creating my water levels to go all over the place. The moment I have started (NOT) following the manual advice and run the pump in the daytime even as we were swimming I had no longer issues with my water and I stopped throwing money away in stabilizers, pool shock, algaecides, etc etc etc... was a costly lesson of something that is pretty obvious. When you use the vacuum from the (deluxe cleaning kit) to clean the bottom please make sure you are covering one of the two intake hoses with one of the black rubber plugs. I am not sure if this is explained in the manual but unless you do so the suction is terrible; once you cover it is night and day. The net is pretty useless, it is OK if you have big leaves, I mostly have little insects mostly so they go right thought the net. would I buy this pool again?? hmm... I am not sure.. I am hoping to get at least 2 years out of it so we shall see. ... show more

I’ve had the pool for a month and it has been wonderful. First, I highly recommend the sand filter as opposed to the regular filter that comes with other pools. It is worth the money. This pool package 18’x9’ came with the sand filter so all the tubing was the correct sizing which was important to me as I don’t want to have to go out and get extra of what I need. I purchased the $5 pool sand at Home Depot (50 lb bag) and had way more than needed. I placed the leftover in a 5 gal bucket with the lid for use when it needs changing out but I don’t see that in the foreseeable future. It was the correct sand needed for this pump and was the best price. Second, I added the attachable skimmer (separate purchase) that hooks on to the side and it works great with this pool. It was easy to attach and I can add some of the pool chemicals there instead of directly into the pool. I’ve also not noticed any issues with this skimmer being in the way or being moved around like others have noticed. Third, I took the advise of another reviewer and purchased the padding from harbor freight for under the pool. It is about 8.99 for four pieces that fit together like a puzzle. I bought 10 for this pool and ended up only needing 9 packages. I used the last package for under the ladder on the outside and under the pool pump. These were absolutely the best. It is extremely comfortable to the feet inside the pool. I cleared and leveled our area but as I learned with a past pool experience any small branch or rock under the liner will be felt by your feet inside the pool when thousands of gallons push the liner down. I used tape to keep the cushions together and had no problems. Finally, the ladder is a bit flimsy. We don’t have anyone over 170 lbs in our family so we didn’t get a bigger ladder but I have had others over who are and I was a bit nervous but it worked fine with someone over 220. I do intend to get sandbags or something to hold the ladder in place since it moves around a lot and is annoying but it is narrow, so if you have hips you will have to straddle the ladder into and out of the pool or risk getting stuck. Also, we purchased this pool due to the dimensions of our yard so it turns out to be great for little mini laps. I love that. But it is rather tall so keep in mind if you have no deck you will only have that narrow ladder for a means of getting in and out of this pool. ... show more

Site prep is key, I worked on this for two days and was still slightly off and had to make some last minute adjustments. My ground was out of level by 3 inches so I had to dig down some of my footers to make the sides level but got it within one inch in the end. I knocked off one star due to it not coming with a skimmer or sand for the filter. After I dropped $2000 on this kit I was not pleased to be ordering more parts, the sand and skimmer are only $20 ea. but I think it should have come with the kit. The pump is under powered for this size pool but it will work until next year when I'm going to upgrade it. I put it up with help from the wife but it was not in 90 minutes like advertised. Between site prep and filling the pool I took a week off from work. I still have some finish work to do but for now it's up and running for the kids. ... show more

    • No Skimmer system, double inlet not amazing...

The double inlet sounds cool until you realize you have no Skimmer and the pass through portion of the pool is much less robust than normal, a portion of the neck of the pass thru is sandwiched between the outside hose end(the clear brittle hose as well not the heavy style) and the "nipple" portion of the screen grommets (will add pictures if I can edit this review later). The biggest problem is the lack of a way to properly consolidate the inlet back into one suction port/device for a vacuum or skimmer. Pool seems to be well built and was as easy to assemble as the last few I have had. The pump is adequate. ... show more
