  • False advertising!
Size: 6 Quart Style: Silicone Lid
There were so many mixed reviews, but I decided to trust the manufacturer. It bears the Instant Pot name so I felt fairly confident that it would have to fit. The lid doesn't even come close to reaching the sides of the pot! The negative reviews were not incorrect. I'm not sure how there are such mixed reviews unless various sizes are being shipped out which would then be a quality control issue. I'm very frustrated because I now have to go through the return process. ... show more

  • Watch out for knockoffs that don't fit!
Size: 6 Quart Style: Silicone Lid
The item I received was not a true Instant Pot silicone cover - apparently they make knockoffs that are ill-fitting, and do not have the Instant Pot logo. The item was sold by "X-Cellence" and/or "Canadian Shop." I only know this because I had purchased a cover the week before and it fits perfectly and also, like the picture, has the Instant Pot logo on it. This one does not, and it just rests on the pot without actually creating a seal. So, buy the cover, just make sure you don't buy it from "X-Cellence" and/or "Canadian Shop." ... show more

  • it's made like a tank and worth the money
Size: 6 Quart Style: Silicone Lid
First of all, it's made like a tank and worth the money. It's heavy, flexible material, like a wobbly frisbee. If you put it on a hot pot of food and let it cool, it flexes inward and creates a suction. It's very nicely made. I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would, though. I have a family of two, so I don't often keep a whole pot full of stuff in the fridge. I put half in the freezer, and divide the remaining half between our plates and some togo size boxes (for lunches). But if you have a big family that will be in and out of the pot a lot, or you're taking it to a potluck or something, this lid is great. ... show more

  • It really sticks
Size: 6 Quart Style: Silicone Lid
I just bought my Instant pot and I was looking for some kind of lid that I could use to close the top while my meals sit on the counter and cool. Our naughty cat likes to get on the counter and sample dinner. So if it’s not covered he sticks his paw in and eats the chicken. My first thought was $12 seems kinda high for a cover, but it beats the price of the glass cover. I think that one is way too expensive. Once the lid arrived I couldn’t believe the smell of it. It’s that fake cheap rubber plastic smell and It was pretty powerful. But once I washed it the smell disappeared. My other thought was that it was flimsy too. I didn’t think it would last one day yet alone a wash in the dishwasher. But it did. I put it on the bottom rack of our dishwasher but I turn the trying off. I think it would melt if you left it on. Once you apply it to the Instant pot it seals firm. You can actually lift the edge off as you push on the lid and you can hear the air escape out the hole and the lid stays that way. It’s a super tight seal and stays that way. I left the lid alone for 24hours and it never budged. Once I make our meal I will put it in the fridge for leftovers the lid is great and makes it easy to store your leftover in the fridge or even for easy transporting to the next potluck. ... show more

  • Perfect solution for storing leftovers in you IP!
Size: 6 Quart Style: Silicone Lid
VERY happy with this lid! Fits snug, but not hard to remove. Strong enough that you can sit something on top of you need to stack. The reviews that say it's easy to get knocked off if bumped is not my experience and I'm very glad I went ahead and bought it! Highly recommend for any IP owner!

  • Unnecessary accessory
Size: 6 Quart Style: Silicone Lid
One can get carried away buying the plethora of accessories that don't come with the original instant pot. Considerations: After food is cooked and there are leftovers, wait until contents are cool enough to cover and place in the fridge? I'd divide contents into smaller portion containers that don't take up so much space in the fridge. Or, a dinner plate or the lid from a sauce pan can be used as a cover. If you're going to bring it to a pot luck, just keep it in the instant pot with original locking lid (which has handles that allow the lid to be hooked to either side of the instant pot) -or- like me, once this pandemic is over, I plan to transfer cooked contents to one of my smaller crock pots--with side lock latches--so I'm not lugging my big loved monstrosity to another location. However, if you absolutely feel you MUST have a silicone lid, then get the Instant Pot version. I bought a knock-off and returned it because it was so loose, it was too easy to flick off the inner pot. This Instant Pot version is a tighter fit, however it was a bit of a chore to align to just right to adhere properly to the inner pot--for this reason, I rated this lid 4-stars. Needless to say, I returned this lid, but keeping the Instant Pot :) ... show more

  • Silicone makes it fit differently than a plastic lid.
Size: 6 Quart Style: Silicone Lid
It fits better than some of the reviewers led me to believe it would. It fits tightly but because it is made of silicone it is thicker, heavier, and very flexible compared with storage lids that are made of plastic. It does not "snap" on, but needs to be "seated" around the edge of the pan. The flexibility and thickness would make it more easy to "bump" the lid off, but not excessively so. I believe it is air tight if it is seated correctly. I assume the the designers made it of silicone because the pan might still be warm when it is covered and silicone is much more heat tolerant than plastic. It should also be less likely to crack with age. I have two insert pans so it is nice to be able to have one in the fridge (tightly covered) and one to use for other meals.Overall I am happy with the lid and would recommend it. ... show more

  • Worked, but IP Tempered Glass lid was Better Option for Me
Size: 6 Quart Style: Silicone Lid
Purchased this for my 6 quart Instant Pot. It is a bit "floppy" but does fit my pot. I find that I am using the Instant Pot Tempered Glass lid much more often than this one, as it seems much more versatile. After pressure cooking has been completed, the glass lid allows the food to be viewed while warming mode and can be left on when putting the IP in the refrigerator. ... show more
