I’ll be honest: I used to steer clear of 360 cameras because I figured they were just gimmicks. My go‑tos were a gimbal camera (Ozopocket) and a Luna Ultra. But the X6 completely flipped my opinion, and 90% of the credit goes to InstaFrame 2.0. This mode uses AI to lock onto people, pets, or pretty much any subject in the 360 footage, then exports a standard 4K video that looks like you had a robotic gimbal tracking the action – with no manual panning needed. I grabbed the optional foldable selfie stick with the remote, and the whole experience felt magical: I could hold the stick, tweak the framing in real time with the joystick, and it was like using a motorized gimbal without all the extra bulk. For what I do, InstaFrame 2.0 has become my default. The image quality isn't quite as crisp as my Luna Ultra when you really pixel‑peep, but it's more than good enough for social media and personal projects. And when it comes to convenience, it absolutely demolishes any dedicated gimbal. The beauty is, if you don't want to frame on the fly, you can still shoot in full 360 and pick your composition later – that classic freedom is still there. I’ve been using the Insta360 X5 for over a year, and I honestly thought it was as good as 360 cams could get. Then I unboxed the X6, did a quick test in my living room at 8K/30fps, and my jaw dropped. Playing back the footage on the camera itself and on my phone, the clarity was noticeably sharper – less noise, better contrast, and that “pop” in the image that makes details stand out without looking overprocessed. But the real shock came at night. I mounted it on my motorcycle handlebar and rode through city streets with streetlights, then out to darker suburban roads. The footage made the scenes look brighter than I remembered – almost like walking through a festival at night. Even on roads with sparse lighting, the area hit by my headlight came out vividly bright and moody at the same time. Compared to my X5, the X6’s low‑light performance is flat‑out superior: less grain, better highlight control, and a sense of “openness” in the image that feels more natural. The UI responsiveness is also snappier – navigating menus, starting/stopping recording, and playback all feel fluid and satisfying. The X6 is also noticeably smaller and lighter, which makes it less intrusive when shooting handheld or on the bike. This is a no‑brainer upgrade.

After two weeks with the X6, I’ve realised it’s not some niche gadget – it’s genuinely three cameras in one. You can shoot full 360° footage and reframe it later in post, use InstaFrame 2.0 like a gimbal cam without having to physically pan, or switch to single‑lens mode and treat it as a regular action camera. That kind of flexibility makes it a proper everyday companion. For daily life – walks, drives, outdoor adventures, family get‑togethers – you never miss a moment just because you weren't pointing the camera the right way. With a traditional camera, if something interesting happens behind you, it's gone. With the X6, everything is recorded, and you can pick your favourite angle after the fact. The upgrade to the dual 1/1.1‑inch square sensors really pays off: PureVideo mode keeps noise low and detail sharp even indoors or around dusk, fixing the old weakness of 360 cams that only shone in bright sunlight. And with 10‑bit colour, I‑Log, and native Dolby Vision, this is a serious tool for colour‑grading enthusiasts – a long way from the "fun toy" reputation of older 360 cameras. The snappy interface, crisp display, and intuitive controls make shooting an absolute pleasure. It's not for everyone, sure – but if you're someone who wants to capture those unpredictable, spontaneous moments during travel, road trips, or family outings, this camera is a powerhouse. I had an old GoPro Hero 9 where the power button was worn in & not working easy. I reached out to GoPro & they said it's out of warranty (obviously since it's several years old) but was hoping they would have the part that could just be replaced. I was watching numerous videos & reviews comparing the new GoPro vs. DJI vs Insta360 & the Insta360 had the best reviews & I always wanted a 360 camera because it works as both a regular wide camera & 360. I've had it for the last 2 weeks & I love it. I'm always worried about not having enough battery so getting the bundle with the 2 batteries AND the charging case was perfect. It also comes with the nice silicone lens case & sleeve, however you can't really fit the camera in the sleeve with the lens case on which I had to buy another hard case that fit the camera with the lens cover for extra protection. The stick is also nice with the rubber grip at the end. Goes compact & extends far enough. But besides that I'm loving the new camera & the sleek white color.

This is the first 360 camera with an image quality good enough for me to not tell it's 360 footage immediately. Even the X5 felt slightly soft to me. It's the best Insta360 has made yet; however, it's not perfect. My biggest complaint is the stitching. I was hoping that, in our modern age, the problem of stitching the two cameras would be solved. However, it's simply not. If anything close to the camera crosses the border between the two lenses, it will be messed up. Things in the distance, like landscapes, are handled well. But if your arm or a face moves in the stitch, it's going to be weird. Post processing the footage you capture is not as bad as it used to be. You can capture flat footage out of camera, and the cloud processing (which appears to be free, I assume it's a part of the 1 year cloud subscription free trial) is fast. But all those complaints aside, it's good. I'm enjoying using it, and it's replaced my previous action camera.

Extremely disappointing experience. I purchased this camera on August 24, and from day one, I couldn't download videos to my phone. I tested it on multiple phones with the same issue. I've been contacting customer service since September 2, and over a month later, there's still no solution. Today is October 10, and I still haven't received any clear answers or resolution. I was asked to return the defective camera, and now I've been without a camera for a week despite having paid for it. They keep saying my replacement is being prepared for shipment, but nothing ever ships. Endless delays, empty promises, and terrible customer service. Extremely frustrating and unacceptable for such an expensive product.

Coming from the X5, my immediate reaction is that I love the smaller form factor. It sits comfortably in your palm rather than feeling like you’re waving around a tiny baton, and it has a nice, grippy, rugged texture all around. A massive win: Insta360 kept the exact same base attachment points, so your older mounts will play nicely. They also added a dedicated lanyard slot to the selfie stick this time around. As someone who upgrade-migrated after... let’s just say unfortunate events with the previous x5 camera body, that added drop protection brings huge peace of mind. The new stick is roughly an inch longer both collapsed and fully extended, and features a subtle yellow/gold accent. It looks sharp, though it is slightly less discreet if you're trying to somewhat blend into the background. ➕What’s in the Essentials Bundle? ➖ Power & Charging: Extra battery and a dedicated 2-battery fast charger with a built in USB-C charging cable but also has a port to plug one in incase the built in one ever fails (plus a spare external USB-C cable is included ). ➖ Protection & Maintenance: Silicone lens cap cover, neoprene sleeve (that with force will fit the body with the lense cap), micro-fiber cloth, and an extended warranty. ➖ Extras: Selfie stick (with lanyard slot), Insta360 stickers, and quick-start paperwork. ⭐️ Why the Essentials Bundle is the Play: If you are coming from an older model like the X5, note that the batteries and lens cap do not carry over due to the redesigned dimensions. The Insta360 X6 Camera is absolutely stunning... I'm a Insta360 lover 100%. The new X6 is awesome way different from the X5 which is a great option as well. I've always used the Insta360 Ace Pro's for everything else. But the new X^ is smaller and more powerful. It's pretty simple to use... The APP has always worked perfectly for all my cameras and I've never had any app issues. The X6 has an internal storage and option to add your own SD card storage. The best part ever since Insta360 offered cloud storage and editing... this became the game changer and I've never went back to any GoPros. The new 360 X6 also connects efferlessly to the quick release connectors as well. The video & picture quality is just amazing and the video stability is just out of this world. There's so much to say about the Insta360 X6 but there are things you just have to check out yourself... Get you 1 or maybe 2,3 or 4 haha!!! Best pocket handheld camera on the market!!!
