    • Great tent for a great price.
Initial review - If the first trip changes anything I will update. Arrived on time and very well crated. No damage and everything contained inside the tent. I use a direct to pedestal mount system so did not use the crossbar clamp plates or hardware but they were nice and thick and appeared would work very well without bending. All attached hardware was tight. Mounted to my truck and set up the included rack as a mount for 2 100w solar panels. Inserting the first square nut on each row was a little difficult due to the residual sealant for the corners but subsequent ones slid through easily. Stainless button head screws are included for attachment and even are pre coated with blue thread locker. Also mounted a 25lb cargo rack to the rear of the top using my own square nuts and hardware in the same fashion. My awning uses its own mounting system so did not need to mount it to the tent but having 2 rows of T slot around the entire exterior provides the ability to mount nearly anywhere on any side. The ladder feels plenty strong but with the height of my truck may prove to be a few inches short if the ground under where I park has any low dips. The closure clasps have a lock hasp and are solid but non adjustable for wear over time. Popped the tent open and discovered the added weight of the rear rack made it so I had to push the tent open to full extension where with just the solar panels it popped all the way up. I may look into struts with a bit more spring force or swap the positions of the rack and solar to move the heavier item to the front (leverage). Folded out the bar hoop section (double check that it latches, the latches are a bit stiff at least when new) and assembled the spring rods. It took less than 5 minutes to set it up without reading the directions (actually never even looked at them until Everything was done lol). The installed rain fly has the clear opening above the "sky light" and unless I find a leak I see no reason to use the included second fly with no "window". Tent fabric feels strong and blocks a good amount of light, but not completely dark as my previous tent. Zippers are good quality and the screen material is equal to any other good quality tent. After wiring up the 50 amp Anderson plug (pigtail not included) I powered up the lighting. Absolutely perfect! Nice and bright with multiple levels of brightness. The electric panel functions as expected and having 12v outlets already installed will work nice. The mattress is comfortable and even while kneeling didn't feel like I was uncomfortably bottoming out on the floor. There is plenty of room to sleep 2 adults but adding a child or pet will make it a bit cramped. Being 6ft tall the length will be a bit shorter than I would prefer but I was expecting that and don't feel it will be a problem. The corner windows have a zipper on each side of the wedge shaped opening and Velcro on the bottom, unsure how that Velcro will hold up over time but should actually work perfect for the outlet from my diesel heater. The storage pockets on the ceiling are nice and the tablet pouch is there if you have the need for one. The description doesn't say anything about it but there is also a full width window at the short end of the tent that will probably be nice to circulate air from end to end instead of just across the sides. Took a trip out with a group to our local ORV park and passed the shake down test with flying colors. First overland trip with it is in a couple weeks and I look forward to seeing how this tent works in the wild. All in all it seems like a very solid tent that should do the job well with only a few possible negatives. Barring any issues on the trail this tent seems to be an exceptional value and comparable to the name brand tents of much higher cost. We love this tent! Very spacious, I put carpet on the ladder so my K9 can climb it with ease. It has pockets in the ceiling, including a clear one where you can put a tablet to watch videos. Has several other storage pockets inside the tent as well. I love that it has racks on top, I plan on putting some solar panels there. We are going on several long camping trips this year so I will update once we have some more experience in the tent. ... show more

I have only used this tent one time so far and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with it… the setup/takedown is easy. The mattress isn’t bad but will be using an extra topper… the overall quality is top notch. The light on the inside is very helpful and bright. This is a pretty heavy tent and requires a few of us to get it onto my bed rack. So be sure to have help when installing. ... show more

    • Solid tent. Needs some vinyl windows.
The tent is well constructed but very heavy. You will need a lift or at least one other person to get this on a vehicle roof. I wish they would have included at least one clear vinyl inside window so you could swap out one of the cloth windows to let light in. As it is, there is no way to see outside without taking down one of the cloth window covers and letting cold air or wind into the tent. Not good for cold weather camping if you want to see outside. Maybe the manufacturer could offer some clear windows as an accessory. ... show more
