Nice to be able to reproduce error codes given by the mechanics. Those errors seemed to indicate other problems, e.g. TCM, PCM, but they only occurred when the ABS was checked. Therefore, communication with the ABS was the problem. Cheap, good alternative to check ABS, which the cheapest DTC readers do not check. ... show more

The instructions that came with the product are vague. I had to figure it out by downloading a users manual online. And it wants to connect to wifi in order to work properly. Then it asks for the VIN number of the vehicle (I suspect that it does this in order to sync with the recorded history of maintenance done in the past for the vehicle). I done all that and got the codes, replaced all the parts using manufacturers recommendations from the dealership, and then tested my vehicle using the scanner once again. The second time I tested it, I got the same exact results (even though I had already replaced all the parts with new parts). I'm not sure what to make of that. My car is running way better that it has ever run due to the fact I replaced all those parts with new parts; however, I do not know why it is still giving me the same codes as before. I cleared all the codes and ran the test again. Same results. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. idk The unit is a little tricky. Not that user friendly. For someone like myself who is not a professional mechanic and who does all his own work on the vehicle simply because he can't afford to take it to a mechanic, I would recommend searching for a better scanner. I don't know which ones out there are the best ones, but this scanner seems to lack the technical capabilities required for a "do-it-yourself" mechanic with limited knowledge such as myself. I would have thought that, after replacing all the parts the scanner gave codes for, that would have solved all the issues on my vehicle as far as the check engine light constantly coming on. I cleared it twice and still get the check engine light. I'm probably going to have to take it to someone with better diagnostic capabilities in order to finally get the issues resolved.     • Now I know what that check engine light means!
It was easy. Used it on a few different cars. Scanned each quickly. Used the google machine to find out the probably cause for the code. Now I just need to address the cause. Wish me luck!
