I was worried it might feel flimsy or unsteady. The base is very heavy, and the whole thing goes together easily. I haven't done more than assemble it in my living room, but it definitely feels like it will work well for my needs.

Its not your use in live setting type stand. Its good for practice space in my opinion. Once you set it I wouldn’t mess with tightening treads as they seem to detiriorate once you start adjusting it and re- tightening it. Decent value for the $ and it servers a purpose but i doubt it would take abuse of being your gigging stand … the cord holding clip snapped in half at the install (used the large one on the base)… #ugetwhatupay4 ... show more

I bought four of these. Two of them have crooked threads in the base, so they won't stand up straight. All four of them have a tendency to come apart between the two pole pieces and those threads are also starting to strip out resulting in a crooked stand.

I lean on the mic stand a lot when I sing, and this isn't the sturdiest mic stand. It always slides down. Parts are cheap and flimsy. It's ok to hold a mic, if you don't touch it.
