As written in the title, this is a sturdy boom arm and looks to be well made. I never had one so have none to compare it with. I also won't know how great it is until I own it longer and see how it holds up but I think it will do well as it seems a solid piece, not flimsy. In the photos you can see that you can use both a handheld (my photo example is a Blue Encore 300) you speak into the top, pointed at you and also a studio mic (the one I show is an AT2020), a side address mic that you must keep upright so the diaphragm is positioned correctly. This boom comes with a handheld mic holder/clip. It's wider than most common clips, enough for holding all three mics I tested, the Encore 300, an EV N/D747 which has a wider handle than most, and Audix OM 2 which has a thinner handle that gets gradually thicker so it slides pretty deep into that holder but holds. So you may want to get a couple of different mic holders/clips depending on the mic you have. I extended the boom way low close to the table top for max extension with the AT2020, exactly 28 inches from the table clamped edge. You'd get a few inches more with a longer handheld mic. The clamp arm uses well fitting long removable rubber pieces to manage and hold your cable keeping it hidden up to the end mic connection. This boom is nice in IMHO.

This is my first boom arm and I can definitely say that I am happy with it! The range of motion is really good, clamps nice and tight to my desk and is easy to swivel out of my way or move up and down or get it into the perfect position. I am by no means a professional but this thing makes me feel like I am! I love that the cords tuck in under the cover making it nice and neat. Overall this is a fantastic starter piece, probably not professional quality by any means but it looks good quality and does everything I need it to do.

Love the look of this! The cable goes in easily, just remove the rubber and feed the cable in and pop the rubber back on and nice hidden cable and clean look. Very sturdy. Great product at a great price!

Pretty good value upgrade. I had a good 5 year old stand that was getting pretty worn out. This one also came with a mic holder and a mount for USB mics that normally sit on your desk so you can raise them off the desk. The arms have a little tunnel with a rubber top to route your mic cables through. Love to see it!!

Earlier this year I got a large Rode mic for podcasting and I had it sitting in its box since it doesn’t have any way to stand or be mounted on its own. This stand fits the microphone I have perfectly, screwing it right into the end of the arm, and I feel like it will withstand lots of use despite the heavy weight of the mic. I also like the “tucked wire” feature on the arm so I don’t need to use Velcro cord management loops to keep the microphone wire in place; this also makes live streaming or recording videos with this mic stand look more professional. I’d recommend this to anyone who needs an affordable stand.

This is a great mic stand. While I already had a desk clamp for my previous mic arm this went right in and worked like it was the one that came with it. Having the cord management built in is way better than having a magnetic hook to hold the cord up and out of the way when put into a stowed position. It easily goes together and so far firmly holds my mic in place and didn’t notice any dragging down of it. I’d say it’s a good and valuable mic arm.
