  • Sturdy!
Number of Items: 1
My wife loves this thing. Its perfect in all the right places and is very sturdy a well built. The base is as very heavy so there is no fear of knocking it over accidentally, like you gotta but a bit of force into it to get it to tilt.

  • Sturdy, well-built and a solid buy
Number of Items: 2
Bought this to help with my podcast. We were recording in a hotel lobby and I needed a couple of mic stands for table-top use to take the place of the extending boom arms I usually employ to hold the mics. These weighted stands are very stable and held the mics securely while giving the video portion of the podcast a more professional feel. I managed to slightly chip the finish (my fault) but some quick use of a sharpie covered that right up. I would judge this a good value for the money. ... show more

  • Folds up for minimal impact when not using. Easy to adjust.
Number of Items: 1
This works very well with my desk set up. I had a boom that attached to the desk with a clamp, but the desk style I have didn't allow me to clamp it on. This one was easy to set up and the base is heavy enough to be a good anchor. It is easy to fold it up vertically to limit space it takes up and then reposition when needed. ... show more

  • Good product with minor
Number of Items: 1
You can freely swivel the arm, it's good and stiff but not to stiff, it stays in place where you want it. The base is nice and heavy. You can't swivel the arm to the side otherwise it will tip over though, at least with a blue yeti it will. It doesn't give no indication of that on the product page, but it says to keep the arm over the base in the manual (just a heads up). And with that being the case, to get the microphone out of the way you have to either turn the whole thing, base and all, or you can raise the arm up or slide it back. But if you slide it back you have to have room behind the microphone, so for instance, no wall. As for the measurements, the pictures indicate a 17" arm, but realistically you have only about 5 1/2" fully extended (Pic). With my Blue Yeti I have about 13" altogether. So just measure how tall/long your microphone is and add 5 1/2". This is because of the base itself and how far back the base of the arm is. The arm has a little wiggle room, so if you where to raise it up, it will tilt down slightly, not a big deal but just for the OCDer's out there, you will notice a slight tilt (Pic). One more thing to note, after waking up in the morning I noticed it had dropped slightly. So I don't know if this will worsen in the future, but I will update my review if it does. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. It got it for my son and he loves it. You don't have an arm in front of your face blocking your screen while gaming. It stays at mouth level (or wherever you want it). It has clips to keep the wires out of the way. 4 stars because of all the little things that I notice but my son doesn't (ha). ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great well built product. Fantastic value for money given its versatility in terms of adjustability. The base is solid and has a foam under it to avoid scrstching surfaces it rests on. Length is ideal to accomodate various recording setups. I use this for recording acoustic percussion instruments and bought 3 of these! ... show more

  • Functionality is all there
Number of Items: 1
Pros: - Heavy base, very capable of holding microphone with arm fully extended. - Strong hinge. I never experienced any give with the weight of my microphone, the AT2035. - Comfortable locks. Locking mechanisms are easy to tighten and loosen. - Height. Height is adequate for having the stand on a desk. - Feels like it will last -if treated well, of course. - Clean. It looks sleek. I like the turn lock, its minimal looking. - Comes with a microphone holder and screw adapter Cons: - U-clip Fragile. The smaller clip on the top axis broke with little effort. I received the product and I attempted to remove the clip with even force as to not pull it apart. It broke down the middle. I contacted customer service and told them that part broke and if they could send me a replacement part. They shipped me a new replace stand. The clip broke on that one too - on the first try. Perhaps its me, and I dont know how to remove clips. But I think I do, as I have had no problems with the bigger clip. I resorted to using a Velcro strap as visible in the photo. Its not a deal breaker to me as I could get a pack of these, but its a bit disappointing. ... show more

  • Couldn't hold the weight even straight out in front lined up with the base
Number of Items: 1
This was my third attempt to get a microphone stand for my simple little MA-67 condenser microphone for a recording studio I'm setting up in one of the unused bedrooms in my house. This one I liked, the stops were all solid, I could tighten it and keep things from moving, unlike the first one I tried that couldn't even hold the microphone up - it kept drooping down, and with the cheap plastic knobs I didn't want to tighten further than I already did. None of those issues here. But the downside was that this is sitting on my keyboard, lined up roughly with the sheet music stand built in, on the side. It fit perfectly, was unobtrusive. But I had to extend the boom forward for it to reach the few spots I would need it. And with my microphone, it just wasn't stable. At the highest height, it would tip over with just a very slight bump. it wasn't quite as bad when the height was lowered to the lowest setting - but it was still too unstable. And I would've been utterly unable to use it pivoted to either side off of the straight lineup with the base plate - the whole thing started tipping then. So I'm off once again to see if maybe the FOURTH time is the charm... ... show more
