    • Stopped working within 24-hours, returned for refund
Seemed too good to be true- 128GB and almost like an iPod Classic for less than $60?! And it was too good to be true. My Macbook stopped recognizing the device the 2nd time I connected it. I tried factory reset different USB ports and different cables with no luck. I was thus unable to load any music onto the device, making it useless. Since other reviewers have cited the same problem it seems as if it's more than a one-off defect. But before my 2nd time connecting the the USB it seemed to work correctly out of the box and I loaded up some music with no problem at 1st. File organization is haphazard at best and a lot of the metadata from the mp3s didn't carry over (artist name and album art were missing for a lot of what I loaded) Playback was fine, sound quality was adequate with wired headphones but music played through an iPod with the same headphones was much louder and better defined. There are number EQ settings and you can actually customize each one, but it doesn't make a huge difference in the definition of the frequencies. Honestly, if the device actually worked reliably as a basic drag-and-drop music player I could look past all the flaws mentioned above. For $52 I had low expectations, but I DID expect it to be recognized by my computer more than once when I connected with the USB cable. If you want an iPod Classic my recommendation is buy a used one. You can still get them for less than $100. It's what I'm going to do. This device might look like a classic iPod but it doesn't work.     • “Large” Display; Intuitive Interface
I had a stupidly long search for an MP3 player that was not tiny and that had a display large enough to be useful. Also, did *not* want a touch screen because I listen to music while outside wearing gloves quite frequently - so I wanted actual buttons. This was the only MP3 player I found that had a decent sized screen, was large enough to hang on to, and had “buttons” - that wasn’t over $100. This thing is new enough on Amazon that there were no reviews, but it met the specs so I ordered it. I’ve had it only a couple days now, but so far, so good. Music files loaded from the computer just fine, Bluetooth pairs up to my 2021 Ram, a JVC receiver, and a Bluetooth headset. Sound is pretty good as is battery life. The controls take a little bit of getting used to, but are not bad. It uses a shuttle wheel reminiscent of the old iPods. It even arrived with a full charge. Paring/connecting the Bluetooth is a little clunky. On the truck I have to connect it using the player (instead of the truck console) every time. No biggie, but that does require scrolling to the Bluetooth menu and selecting the correct device, then getting out of that folder and scrolling to the music to get the tunes going. A minor annoyance. The case is not very grippy (smooth metal) and very lightweight. I would love it if there was a silicon case I could get for it. Kind of scared I’m going to drop it and damage it. For $50, I’m pretty happy with this. ... show more

    • Great mp3 player
I like this thing a lot. The not-so-good: The only issue I've had with this thing is at times it will "skip" like cds used to, but only for half a second, and only at the beginning of a song. It's also lightweight, so it feels a little fragile. The good: It does everything I want it to. Usb-c, keeps charged for a good enough length of time, room for a few playlists, shuffles, loops, etc. So much storage space. The bluetooth is great (the issue with skipping listed above happens regardless of whether I'm using bluetooth or wired headphones). Heck, even the included headphones are a nice length, imo. They're long enough for me to put the player in my pocket. There are some ways I would change it if I could. More color options, stronger material, etc. But I'm happy with the way it is. My purpose for getting the mp3 player was to reduce my phone use. While that takes a lot more work than buying something, and I'm still struggling, it's nice to have one less reason to look at my phone. 5 stars, because the issue I mentioned doesn't bother me, and other mp3 players are not up to my standards. ... show more
