This pillow is soft and comfortable. The blue is a lovely shade too. The zipper is quality. I got it to use for my dog who has megaesophogus (esophogus won’t push food and water down). It’s important dogs with that diagnosis keep their heads tilted upward. So I removed the inflatable part and stuffed it with polyfiberfil. Then it made it a very soft cushion for him to wear 24/7. I took off one star for the sizing. The small should have been the right size but the medium was a better size and it also gave a wider area out from the neck (if a dog is using it for recovery, that width would be important too so he can’t reach the stitches). In my dog’s case the small was too snug and the width of pillow out from his neck was too short. My dog’s neck is just 7” around also so the small should have been perfect. So we have the medium and I think if you are inflating it, you’d inflate it a little less to make sure it fits then. In my case, we doubled over the Velcro and will find a friend who can sew to fix it down to size. Seller, please make a size between small and medium please! Anyway, for the quality and softness, I decided to go ahead and get a second one despite that we’ll have to fix it to make it fit. Allows dachshunds (long noses & long body) to get to neutering incision site. The marketing info does say won’t work well with long noses, bodies, legs, etc. but that statement is way, way, way at the bottom and is not shown in Amazon’s product description. The product is good quality, really nice. Very disappointed that the long nose, body, legs info is buried at the bottom under pictures. Returning. ... show more

Initially, this product was great. Now that I’m on the second injury for my pup, the durability is definitely questionable. It seems like the air retention has greatly reduced and needs to be inflated multiple times throughout the day.

    • Better then the lampshade type!

My dogs have had to wear those lampshade type cones and they are awful on the dog and us. This is like having a pillow around his neck. It’s inflatable with a nice, soft, removable cover. Cover zips in and out, so it’s secure. No way for the inside to slide out. You slide the dogs normal collar through the loops on the inside circle. Then you put it around the dogs neck, hook the collar then hook a Velcro strap. Very easy to put on and take off. I would recommend this over the old kind any day.
