My pug mix is 23 pounds so she was considered medium size dog for spaying. I ordered her this inflatable collar for post op recovery. You inflate and it also has an adjustable velcro strap for around the neck fit. It also has a zipper so you can remove the cover for washing. The collar was easier on my dog versus the awkward plastic cone that most dogs trip over. Plus she was also able to nap on it without appearing uncomfortable. Her own pillow. She also was able to drink and eat out of her bowl with it on. It is well made and looks cute on her while providing the necessary protection from lick8ng her site. There was no air leakage so the valve works well. Definitely worth getting over the normal cone. A better distraction without chaos.

I love this alternative. It’s made such a difference after my fur babies neutering. Not only for my pup but for us too because he no longer was running into us with his cone (it hurt). He adjusted to the plastic cone they give but this gave him so much more mobility before this I had to hand feed him and give him water with a medicine syringe. It looks so cute on him. He’s brown so the yellow is complimenting him lol. I was questioning the size to get based on all the reviews I read. I ended up going with a medium because he was in between a small and medium but chose to go with the bigger size and it fits him perfect with collar! The price was worth my babies comfort and confidence. It’s helped him adjust to the restrictions but still be able to get back to his hyper independent self lol. The durability has been great. With use it starts to get soft but it’s ok because by that time which is about maybe a week at most then it’s ready for me to throw in the wash. Defaltes literally in a second after taking the plug out then when washed Blow it back up and wahlah! 🤎 It has a place to put your dogs collar on the inner part of it for a reason. Please learn from my mistake I was running late to work after taking my fur baby out since I live in an apartment. I take this one off and put the plastic one for outside so since I was running late I decided to hurry and put the cone on without his collar to save myself time well when I came home the collar was off but only because I didn’t put his collar on without it so please please please don’t do what I did. His incision was red. I am so grateful to God he didn’t open himself up and I learned my lesson. He is now wearing it with his collar and extended his healing time but it’s ok. This collar is amazing! I would recommend 100% Oh and one more thing yes the plug does stick out but I make sure to put the donut on where the plug is on the bottom and I position it where his chest is. It stops him from trying to go toward his incision and he can’t bite it and damage the cone. Hope this helps. 😊

This collar is made well with an outside covering of corduroy so it’s very soft against the dogs neck. The 1st one I ordered, according to the recommended sizing chart, was much too large. I ordered a smaller size and it worked pretty well. He was able to eat and drink with no problem.

My dog used his after the neuter. He is still able to reach his incision site with it on, but it does encourage him not to do so slightly. It is a great alternative for the 6th-10th day post op as it is definitely more comfortable (see photo of him using it as a pillow), holds air well, and allow him to eat and drink comfortably. I still recommend monitoring your pet in the beginning to see if they are flexible enough to get around it.

This is a total 1 star item. A single strip of weak velcro is all that keeps the collar from falling off effortlessly. My dog had his off within minutes of leaving him alone, and found him locking his wound... which defeats the entire purpose. Would not recommend

So much better than the cone of shame. Not only is it more comfortable for our dog to sleep in, but he’s more mobile in it, and it’s easier to put on him. He actually somewhat likes that he has a portable pillow. It fits as expected and is easy to take off (almost too easy as he has slid out a few times. So far it has seemed to disrupt his sleep less than the cone, and it’s safer for our baby since he likes to be around her, it has prevented injury from getting his by the plastic cone. Also it’s way more cute than a cone. It does make their balance a little off so beware they might miss their jumps or roll when they are just trying to lay down lol
