Pros: very powerful, small, cool stays cool, attachment attaches firmly, can fit the xtava orchid diffuser Cons: louder than other hair dryers I’ve used, the back will suck your hair up lickety split if given the opportunity All in all, I think this is a great hair dryer. It dries my hair faster than my sister’s other conair hair dryer and actually stays cool when set to cool (I’m not sure I’ve ever had a hair dryer do that). The loudness can be a lot sometimes but I do have ear plugs I can use. My biggest issue is that I have long hair and if I’m not careful, it’ll get sucked up in the back. This is simple enough to prevent with extra care but still a little annoying. I think it’s because the motor is so powerful and it has a short barrel, because the mesh screen on the back is equivalent to other hair dryers I’ve used and I never had an issue with those ones. But for your money, I’m not sure there’s another hair dryer that would do a better job. I’d be interested to see how it compares to the non-compact version. ... show more

This review is for the "mini" version of this dryer. That name is a bit deceiving if you're looking for a tiny travel dryer. It is small, but not tiny. For me, that's just the right size -- for everyday use as well as for travel. It also feels sturdy, like it will last for years and years. The reviews that comment on how powerful this thing is are 100% correct. I tried it about 10 times with the concentrator attached. I wasn't sure I liked the dryer as it was hard to style my rather fine, rather straight hair with my round brush (too powerful, too fast, and not hot enough on the lower speed setting). Then I removed the concentrator, and it was perfect, even on high speed. The only thing I would change is that it would get hotter on the low speed, but this is something I have never found in a dryer. The high heat on the low air setting it just warm. But it does get nice and hot on the high setting. I have even started using the cool button because, unlike on other dryers I've had in the past, that button actually works as it's supposed to. ... show more

Getting rid of my full-sized hair dryer! I am so very pleased with this purchase! This small hair dryer does everything my full-sized hair dryer does, but in a much better package, making it **much easier** and a bit faster to dry and style my hair. I'm honestly surprised at how well this small hair dryer works!! I gave up trying to straighten my curly hair with a blow dryer because my full-sized dryer is too unweidly. My arms would get too tired and it seemed like they weren't long enough. But that's not the case with this dryer. I am happy to say my arms don't get too tired with this small hair dryer. When they get a little tired, I switch hands and it works fine. With my full-sized hair dryer, I couldn't do that because I couldn't accurately maneuver the large dryer with my non-dominant hand. This little dryer is just as powerful as a full-sized dryer! It didn't work out "just as well" as a full-sized dryer; it worked out better! That it comes with a concentrator is a great bonus, and it does make my hair a little bit less frizzy. I'm also curious to try the Orchid diffuser that everybody seems to mention. The only thing I don't like is that the cord is a bit short. However, not so short that I can't use it and no way am I returning this!! ... show more

This little thing is amazing! I have always purchased larger sized hair dryers with large fans because I want to get the drying job done quickly without using excessive heat and without waiting for low air flow. However, they do take up a little more space when traveling, especially when making shorter trips and wanting to carry necessities in a carry-on without checking luggage. When the cord of my previous dryer started to become loose at the handle from a few years of use, it was time to start looking again to check out the current batch of available dryers. The task was a bit more difficult because I also require separate speed and heat switches, as well as switches that are designed so that settings are not easily changed inadvertently when in use. After reading many reviews and comparing products, I decided to give this really compact dryer a try without setting my expectations too high. To my surprise, this little dryer produces an amazing amount of air, comparable to and actually exceeding many larger dryers that I've used over the years! It heats the air to either warm or very warm, but not so hot as to be uncomfortable or maybe damage hair. The switches are ideal as they are easy to set and almost impossible to change by accident. The grip is really comfortable, based upon use by both me (over 6' with larger hands) and CINC House (5-5 with smaller hands), and you don't have to worry about flipping a switch when changing your grip which I really appreciate. While it's immediately obvious that most hair dryer reviews are written by women, I felt compelled to write this one up while taking a break from my normal activities of chopping wood with my shirt off, digging huge ditches with my CAT backhoe, tossing hay bails and huge logs for fun, and arm wrestling at the pub for the affections of some other hair drier reviewer. The bottom line: I believe this little hair dryer is my favorite of all time and I highly recommend it! ... show more

This is amazing. Takes HALF the time AND my hair was so much healthier after one single use! It's made such a difference. I don't avoid drying my hair anymore. So easy to switch settings. Love the warm & cool settings. I don't have to hold down the cool button anymore which is easier in my hands & wrist. I only use cool & warm so far because I'm just drying, not styling. It's not paper light but it feels like five lbs lighter than a normal dryer and it works a thousand times better than my last lightweight one (the polka dot one). Before I would dry my hair, my neck and wrists would hurt, I'd have to taje a break halfway & brush my hair, it would explode & be hot, I'd have to work really hard to brush it when it was dry without tearing it all out because it was almost a rats nest, it would be crunchy & frizzy and I'd have to work it into a bun to flatten it down. Every time. And I thought that was just my hair. I was using a Revlon 1875 or whatever & the polka dot lightweight one. They were both a task. A lot of times I'd leave it a little wet because I I thought I was damaging it drying it all the way. That's bad for your health & your scalp. I'm so much better off with this one & I'm never switching ... show more
