I've fought frizzy hair for as long as I can remember. I've used the Instyler to smooth my hair for years, and it's worked pretty well. However, I think I've recently damaged a section of my hair, compliments of too much heat from the Instyler. My hair is never smoother than when my hair stylist blows it out, but I'm just not good at blow drying. I thought I'd try a blower brush, and did a lot of research. I didn't want to spend a fortune, I just wanted to try something different, easy, and that would put less heat on my hair. Several of the reviews I read for Conair's Dr. Knot were what sealed the deal for me purchasing this. I was surprised how much faster my hair dries, and even though my hair is just about chin length, the brush attachment does an amazing job at smoothing. It seems to be plenty of power without putting too much heat out. I love that it also has settings. I've not mastered the comb lift attachment, but that's not something I really need for my style, which is pretty much your basic smooth bob. The price for something so effective is phenomenal. You don't need to spend over a hundred dollars to get an effective, quality, easy to use brush dryer/styler. Take it from someone who has always struggled with hair that reacts badly to humidity, this gizmo is a gem!

I previously had the black and pink Revlon brush dryer and the bristles were starting to get too crooked and losing the soft tips on them, so I bought this as my second brush dryer. I make sure to never store this dryer or put it down on the counter with the brush head attached. I take that part off and stand it upright on the counter and now after 6 or so months, it still looks good as new. I haven't figured out a good use for the other attachment, so I don't use that much. Pros: The grip of the bristles on your hair is better than the Revlon was, so it's easier to smooth or straighten my hair as I dry it. The barrel is also a little narrower, so it's not as hard to handle it. It's WAY quieter, and not as heavy. Cons: The finish on the barrel flakes off a little bit, so sometimes I have little black specks on my hands from holding the dryer. Pro/Con? The hotter of the two settings is not as hot as the Revlon dryer was, and I think I can't get my frizzy, porous hair to be as thoroughly dry with it. To really get it looking smooth and shiny I need to go over it a little with the flat iron as well. This lower temp may be a positive for you if you're looking to avoid heat damage.

This works wonders and speeds up dry time. I love that I can adjust the heat settings and take off the attachment to use as a regular blow dryer. The wire is able to move around so it doesn’t get twisted. It is on the loud side. Overall I’d say it’s pretty easy to use after a little practice. I’m happy. My daughter’s hair is soft but curly and wavy.

Game changer for my clients! And for myself. I have looked high and low for a good hot air stying brush and this one brings it all together. Controls are accessible, as in the controls not at the bottom of the dryer that need a twist. The controls are on the body of the styling unit. Easy to use the cool shot button while styling. A Plus plus!! Great to pre dry your hair before styling. Because the barrel detaches and you have a hair dryer! Snap the barrel back on and style. Great for travel, having a blow dryer and styling barrel that detaches simplifies multiple styling tools. Creates volume, smooths curly, wavy, frizzy hair. This product is okay. I have thick course hair and usually need high heat for a flat iron, curling iron, hot brush to get my hair to be sleek. I used the first revlon for 2 years on my hair. And while some complained that it was too hot. It did the job great on my hair and shortened the time for me to get the job done. It died a month ago so I looked up reviews and saw great things about the knot Dr. I am debating on whether I will return this tool. The tool is light and easy to hold. It blows a lot of air but it is warm air not hot like a blow dryer. It still dried my hair and made it semi straight but I will have to go back over it with a flat iron. It took longer to get it to the dry point since the air isn’t that hot. My hair still looks a little puffy if I decide not to go over it with a flat iron which I suppose is a look I could sport. I think this will likely get returned. I wouldn’t recommend for people with thick course hair. But I think it would be great for people with thinner hair.

I never write reviews but I feel compelled to on this item. I am absolutely amazed at how great this hair styler. I have very naturally curly hair which can be a blessing and a curse. After keeping my hair on the shorter side for many years, I've been letting it grow out. I usually use a hair dryer and round brush. It gets more difficult to do the longer my hair gets so I started looking at these types of styles. I used it for the first time about a week ago and could not believe what a difference it made with my hair. OMG!!! It is so easy and takes so much less time. It makes my hair look exactly the way i want it to look which is very hard to do. I am overwhelmingly so happy to have it. Makes me want to buy a couple more just to have for the future. Do not think twice about buying this item. It is awesome! Double kudos for whoever came up with this styler.

At first it made my hair look amazing, but I started noticing tons of breakage and flyaways later. It literally broke my hair in half over time. I think the temperature is just way too hot and powerful. Definitely won’t be using it again.
