  • Li-Ion AA Rechargeable batteries with charger
Color: 4Slot-8AA
My batteries initially read about 1.55 volts; I'm surprised they were that high. With four in the charger, the unit pulled about 1.2 amps at 5 volts, or ~6 W, according to my Kill-A-Watt meter. They didn't take long to top off. It's a good-looking charger that holds 4 batteries, with a total of 8 batteries included in the kit. Everything appears fairly well-built all around. No USB cable or charging block were included, but instructions were included indicating what the small but effective LEDs on the unit do. A green flash means charging, and solid green means done. Each of the four battery bays has an individual LED status indicator. That's fairly intuitive, but I checked the manual anyway, where I learned a bit more. Red is bad; solid red means the unit overheated, and flashing means incompatible battery. I haven't seen any incompatibilities. After they all turned green, I disconnected the cable and saw about 5.5-7w - 11.5-7w fluctuations upon reconnecting. They were all solid green again as the voltage jumped around a bit and then fell down again, which looks good so far. The unit could be individually testing and topping off the batteries, as I've seen in other devices. After a full drain, the batteries barely below ~1.4volts, which is basically dead for a Li-Ion. Upon recharge, a 30 W supply showed settled at ~8.6W draw at the 120 V outlet, equating to ~1.72 A at 5 V, fairly close to the 2 A usage labeled on the device. I'd be comfortable using this charging unit with most USB-C chargers, though older chargers could certainly take longer to charge the AA batteries in this. Good batteries and charging unit. They may not be ideal for very-low-amperage devices such as remote controls or wall clocks, but rechargeables are catching up in that area. Rechargeable lithium slowly loses charge over time, while alkaline and some others can last for years at low power usage. These work well for power-hungry devices like fans, cameras, and lights. Recommended for items with motors. This kit has the potential to save some decent money and keep plenty of alkaline or other AA batteries out of landfills and incinerators. If you don't mind having to remove the battery from the device each time it's due for a recharge, they're great. Good value with these ... show more

  • IMUTO: AA 1.5-Volt Lithium-ion Rechargeable Batteries, 2,500mWh/1667mAh, Qty: 8, 8-Bay Charger
Color: 8Slot-8AA
This product is a set of eight (8) AA-pattern Lithium-ion chemistry batteries. These batteries have the AA-pattern standard 1.5-volt power output so that they can be used with those devices that use standard disposable AA batteries. This product also includes an eight-position battery charger and a USB-C to USB-C cable that is approximately 18 inches long for connecting the eight-position battery charger to be used with a user-supplied USB-C power source. This charger can individually charge one to eight batteries, has an LED status light for each battery, and it has two translucent, snap-closed doors to secure the batteries in place while they are charging. These batteries have a capacity of 1,667mAh (or 2,500mWh) each, which is a substantial power capacity, not the largest but still a substantial power capacity. Perhaps best of all, batteries that utilize the current Lithium-ion chemistry such as these, have a very low self-discharge rate so that once charged, the batteries will remain charged for a very long time whereas commonly used alkaline cells are constantly in a state of self-discharge. Additionally, Lithium-ion chemistry batteries have a constant voltage output until they are nearly discharged. This allows the device being powered to work properly until the battery must be recharged. These batteries, because of their Lithium-ion chemistry, do not exhibit a “memory effect” like Nickle Metal Hydride chemistry batteries and, most particularly Nickle Cadmium chemistry batteries are prone to exhibit. These batteries can be recharged 1600 times or more using the included eight-position battery charger device. The user will need to supply power from an industry-standard USB-C power source such as that used with most current smart phones. The supplied charger can accept one to eight batteries for charging and each battery is individually charged. Further, the charger can detect when a battery is defective or over-heated and report that condition to the user with the charger’s LED lights. These batteries have a built-in chip which controls the power output and provides protections for the use of the battery. The protections provided include: ○ Over-Charging Protection ○ Over-Discharging Protection ○ Over-Voltage Protection ○ Over-Current Protection ○ Short-Circuit Protection ○ Over-Heating Protection ○ Anti-Leakage Design When I received these batteries, I set about charging them. Charging took some time due to their high capacity but each one charged and when tested each one worked properly. I did note that the batteries did get warm while being charged. I also noted that this charger was much faster that other similar chargers and was able to pull down 15 Watts while charging all eight batteries. I am impressed by this. I am very happy with this product! ... show more
