    • Size in picture kinda deceiving
Totally my fault for not reading and paying very close attention to the size. In fact when the driver arrives with the package, I just happened to be working out in the yard. He handed me the soft package it came in and I felt all over the package and seriously thought it was empty. In fact as he was getting back in his truck I even said I think it's empty. He said yeah kinda felt that way but it's just really small. I've had a wound I've been waiting to try this one so immediately went inside and applied it. Oh my it burns . I sstarted a general Google search to see if menuka honey in general burns (stings) open wounds and found with some people it can't but should only last 20 mins or so, (again that's any honey not brand specific) and it did stop about 20.mins.later ... show more

I recently started using the Improved Medihoney Gel Wound and Burn Dressing from Derma Sciences for deep wound care, and although doctors and patients have reported high efficacy, it's still too soon for me to determine its effectiveness after two weeks of use. I have been applying this product on an S4 sacral pressure sore with slight bone exposure. While the debriding process has been highly effective and encouraged sloughing fairly quickly, I have yet to witness any significant signs of epithelialization or granulation, which are crucial for wound healing. One aspect that I found challenging is the product's viscosity and stickiness. It makes it difficult to apply the goo cleanly, resulting in some messiness during the dressing change. To mitigate this issue, I would suggest applying the gel onto a band-aid or silicone foam dressing directly, and long before lowering the head of the bed to prevent vomiting, rather than directly into the wound bed. This approach helps maintain a quicker and cleaner application process. Furthermore, the cost of this product is quite high, which can be a concern for individuals seeking cost-effective wound care options especially for those whose wounds are very deep (greater than S2). While I am still uncertain about the efficacy of MediHoney, I will continue using it and closely monitor its impact on my wound. I believe it is too soon to provide a final verdict, and I recommend consulting with a healthcare professional for personalized advice on wound care alternatives. ... show more
