This is my all-time go-to product. I’ve burned myself plenty of times with a curling iron or while baking, and this gel truly does what it promises. I usually wait a day or two to let the cut or burn clean and dry on its own, then I start applying it once in the morning and once at night before bed. It’s lightweight, transparent, odorless, dries quickly, and provides great protection. Best of all, it helps prevent scarring—something I’ve been so grateful for. My son just had an accident and skinned his forehead down to his chin—just three weeks before his sister’s wedding! I immediately “Amazoned” him a container of Mederma because I know from experience how much of a difference this product can make. I plan to review again with photos and a caption that says, “Do you believe me now?!” It really works.

Well... To my surprise, the product works, but it doesn't just work, it works quite well. I don't normally review products that I often, but I feel like this is one of those where reviews kind of really count for people trying to get rid of scars. I think I had this scar for probably four or five months and I've been applying this product for about a little under a month + the trust me when I tell you, the scar was a lot more visible and you could actually spot it walking up to me. Now, you can't even see it walking up to me and I'm still haven't even reached a month yet of using this stuff. I suspect that within the next month, it'll probably be basically gone. If it was much older, it'd probably take a lot longer. So yes, the stuff actually works! Just make sure you don't put on too much or else it'll start peeling off. A little bit to cover it entirely so that it doesn't start peeling up, should do the trick. IMPORTANT NOTE: because I can imagine people who've never used this stuff might end up complaining about it. This stuff can make the area you apply it to, a little itchy. It's really not too bad, but your experience may be different. This is apparently a common thing when it comes to scar removal gels. That being said, if you experience itching, that's pretty common. Your skin will also start peeling. That's supposed to happen. I just exfoliate the area and the area and remove the dead skin. UPDATE: Dang, the scar is 90% gone. I shed a bit more skin and a bit more time later, here we are.

I burned my ring finger pretty badly while cooking steak “Iron Chef” style—lots of heat, lots of drama. Unfortunately, the scar was right on my ring finger, so it was hard to ignore. I picked up Mederma Advanced Scar Gel hoping to minimize the damage, and I’ve had reasonably good results. The gel goes on smoothly and I used it once daily as directed. It only takes a tiny amount. I did notice some itchiness during the healing process, but I suspect that was part of the skin regenerating. The scar is still a bit darker than the surrounding skin, so I plan to follow up with a gentle bleaching formula. That said, the texture and overall appearance of the skin have definitely improved—it’s smoother and less raised. If you’re dealing with a fresh scar, this is a solid option. It’s not a miracle cure, but it does help the skin repair itself noticeably. I recommend this product.

I have definitely noticed a difference with this scar gel. I had some small annoying scars on my legs that were taking forever to heal and they have faded a lot since I started using this. They are not even noticeable now. I will definitely continue to use this.
