Have used this for terrible sunburns that left me boiled from Florida panhandle; an electric scooter that took off by itself while it was between my legs and ran over the back of my foot; and oil burns. Apply Mederma to your worrisome areas that are likely to scar and do it every day. My initial scars receded greatly. One recommendation: Avoid getting sun, or getting a tan on these scarlines while they are healing (and/or before you start healing). Started using after stitches removed. Keeps area very soft which helps healing. There are spots on my 6 inch incision that you would not know was an incision. Other spots still need care, but looking good. Only use about a pea size dot to do my entire incision. Little tube but lasts a long time. Had extra on finger one day so put on my nose which has had many years of abuse and felt very pitted. One application escalated to once a day. Nose much better feeling. I'm currently using the 3x a day Mederma with SPF30. I started using it after the stitches were made on my chin. It has prevented scar formation. Since that is running out, I decided to get the clear gel that only needs to be applied 1x a day. That should take me to the end of my needs.
