  • Lightweight and Foldable
The iLiving USA - V8 Foldable Mobility Electric Scooter is a great little scooter for the price. I have researched many scooters and my requirements were that it was lightweight, foldable, easy to maneuver and that the batteries had a decent range. I have only used it once so far. But here are the things I considered Pros with this scooter: I didn’t have to buy another expensive battery. It is truly easily foldable, and fits in the back of my SUV or even in the backseat. I’m glad it isn’t any heavier - my husband can get it loaded in the car but not yet sure I can do. It will work for travel - including airlines and cruise ships. It is comfortable and easy to drive - it is 3 wheel, but it feels like I’m well-balanced. I’ve driven on sidewalks, streets and in dirt/gravel parking lots so far. I like that all the tires are solid - I don’t want to worry about a flat. It’s very easy to charge. Things I still need to do or check out: I want to get a basket for the back. There’s not anywhere to put things. I want to drive it for a longer time and make sure it stays charged for as long as it is supposed to. Note: As you may have read on other reviews the steering post/tiller can be raised and lowered according to your needs. When we raised the steering tiller and tried to lock it in place the plastic spacer in the latch snapped. Customer service (Mariana) responded to us right away and a replacement piece is being shipped to us. (She’s great!) She sent a video too that explains how to fix it. The video refers to the replacement piece as “rubber” - it would be great if it is rubber and isn’t brittle. Having said that, too bad the scooter didn’t come with a rubber spacer instead of plastic that would snap. In spite of this I have to give this scooter 5 stars. The freedom of being able to go out with my family again is so wonderful. I need to practice with it a bit more but it appears that this scooter is just the right size with just the right amenities for me. I will update my review as I use it more. ... show more

  • Lightest, coolest mobility scooter out there.
This little scooter is adorable & very lightweight! Compared to my 95 lb GoGo, (which I loved but couldn't travel on planes with) this is so much easier to get in and out of my car. I am 70 and even tho' it's a bit of a challenge, I can get it into the car. What I really love is the one step process to open it. With others you have to 'lift this, unlock that, fold the front before the back.' Not this one...You pull out the red lever and unfold it. That's it! And it's easy to fold back up. When closed up, it not thick at all.. it uses up very little space.. It's actually quite peppy too. If everyone walks briskly, they can keep up with me. Lol And how cool is the fact that I can charge my phone in the little USB port! My ONLY wish is that it had a tighter turn radius but with all the other pluses...I can live with that. I have several friends who bought a previous model, that is how I was introduced to iLiving. They were so impressed with the customer service and loved their scooters a lot so I looked into the company and found this gem. ... show more

  • Great little scooter!
Having owned this scooter for over a year now, we have used it for numerous trips including cruises and flights. The V8 is a well made, portable, and affordable scooter. Long lasting battery, good speed range. Folds quickly and easily to the size of a suitcase. It gets many positive comments about it's size and portability. Light enough for one person to load in the trunk, and yes, it only weighs 40 pounds (I actually weighed it). Easy to gate check when flying, and narrow enough to navigate cruise ships with ease. Negatives: speed control and abrupt braking take some getting used to, no basket or means to carry anything unless purchased separately, can be tipsy if turned quickly or surface is not level, and solid wheels tend to amplify bumps. Overall, the V8 has been a great purchase, and I would buy it again! However, the travel cover that is sold separately does not fit the V8 well and I do not recommend it. ... show more

  • The Best Scooter I've Owned!
I have had my iLiving v-8 scooter for 15 months now and I love it! It's fun to ride and easy to maneuver. It is the easiest to operate, fold up and transport of the 4 scooters I have owned. I've taken it on multiple flights without a problem. There are a couple of design flaws but they are minor: First, on bumpy terrain the batteries sometimes shake loose, which causes the scooter to come to a dead stop. Fortunately that hasn't happened to me in the middle of a cross walk! I decided it would help to use the key that locks the batteries in place and leave them locked. But even with that precaution there have been a couple of times the batteries have still disconnected. I then have to turn the scooter off, push the batteries back down into place and turn the scooter on again. An inconvenience but not serious. The second problem has to do with locking the batteries in place to prevent theft. The manual indicates that is the purpose of using the key to lock them in place. But once they are locked in, the key cannot be removed. Which means that anyone could come along and unlock them and take the batteries. So this feature does not actually achieve what it was intended to do. But aside from these 2 small issues the scooter has worked perfectly. I would definitely buy one again! ... show more

  • Great Little Scooter, bit to armrests
I very rarely write reviews but in case I will. Great little scoot, very light weight I'm enjoying it greatly. Perfect at 42lbs I am able to lift it in car trunk. May be a little over priced. Just so you know I did not get armrests it shown in the instructions but not in the box. On there web site they cost $150.00 set, seems pricey, this was not a deal breaker for me. I recommend this scooter. Update 9-27 Well not to happy on vacation and the key got loose looks like the nut came off. 2 - when I use reverse lever it seems to get stuck if I push it all to way down. . I have to jiggle it to get it released. When back from vacation will be returned. ... show more

  • poor support and scooter poorly made
I bought this product 2 years ago before my transition to a retirement facility. I did not use it until 1 1/2 years ago. The scooter ran well and operated as advertised until two months ago. I was driving into an elevator and clipped the very edge of the right foot pedal. The pedal immediately cracked and began to separate. The damage surprised me because the impact had been very slight and I did not expect the damage to be so significant. The pedal broke away from the frame and exposed very cheap pot metal construction. I called the company in an attempt to find out how to repair the damage. I asked if I could order another frame or if there was another way yo repair the damage. The receptionist was unhelpful and told me that there was nothing that they could do to assist me. I should also explain that I had purchased new batteries for $500 prior to my incident. I liked the scooter but it has not been a very worth while purchase. I have spent $500 for new batteries that were not covered by the warranty. This scooter is supposed to have a 3 year warranty for parts and service. I hired a mobility company to repair the scooter and they also contacted ILiving. They were told as well that the damage was not covered by the warranty. In summary the product works but do not expect ANY SUPPORT FROM THE COMPANY THAT SELLS THIS PRODUCT. So far I have paid to purchase the scooter, bought new batteries, and have additional repair costs to replace the foot pedal. In addition ILiving has not been responsive to the company I hired to fix the totally broken and irreplaceable foot pedal. The product worked but the company support has been non existent. Stuff happens and when it does this company will leave you on your own. They are willing to sell products but do not want to support customers after purchase. I have just found out the product I purchased and thought was new was actually used. I thought it was sold by ILiving but have just found out from ILiving it was actually sold by an unidentified third party. The fact it was used negated any warranty and I paid the full price represented by Amazon. I relied on Amazon and ILiving as companies I thought I could count on to support my purchase of this scooter. I thought my scooter was new but actually found out it was used with no warranty. I am beyond disappointed and shocked that what I purchased was not what I received-Bait and switch? ... show more

  • Absurd replacement part prices!
I love my little scooter, in fact it is my second one BUT, on my older scooter the right speed control lever broke. It’s a piece of plastic, period. I called to get a replacement and they wanted $75 for it! It’s a piece of plastic that probably has $1.00 of material in it! That’s it! I’ll never order another one. Look out Gorilla glue . . . We have a date with a throttle! ... show more
