  • Lightweight and Foldable
The iLiving USA - V8 Foldable Mobility Electric Scooter is a great little scooter for the price. I have researched many scooters and my requirements were that it was lightweight, foldable, easy to maneuver and that the batteries had a decent range. I have only used it once so far. But here are the things I considered Pros with this scooter: I didn’t have to buy another expensive battery. It is truly easily foldable, and fits in the back of my SUV or even in the backseat. I’m glad it isn’t any heavier - my husband can get it loaded in the car but not yet sure I can do. It will work for travel - including airlines and cruise ships. It is comfortable and easy to drive - it is 3 wheel, but it feels like I’m well-balanced. I’ve driven on sidewalks, streets and in dirt/gravel parking lots so far. I like that all the tires are solid - I don’t want to worry about a flat. It’s very easy to charge. Things I still need to do or check out: I want to get a basket for the back. There’s not anywhere to put things. I want to drive it for a longer time and make sure it stays charged for as long as it is supposed to. Note: As you may have read on other reviews the steering post/tiller can be raised and lowered according to your needs. When we raised the steering tiller and tried to lock it in place the plastic spacer in the latch snapped. Customer service (Mariana) responded to us right away and a replacement piece is being shipped to us. (She’s great!) She sent a video too that explains how to fix it. The video refers to the replacement piece as “rubber” - it would be great if it is rubber and isn’t brittle. Having said that, too bad the scooter didn’t come with a rubber spacer instead of plastic that would snap. In spite of this I have to give this scooter 5 stars. The freedom of being able to go out with my family again is so wonderful. I need to practice with it a bit more but it appears that this scooter is just the right size with just the right amenities for me. I will update my review as I use it more. ... show more

  • Lightest, coolest mobility scooter out there. Lightest, coolest mobility scooter out there.
This little scooter is adorable & very lightweight! Compared to my 95 lb GoGo, (which I loved but couldn't travel on planes with) this is so much easier to get in and out of my car. I am 70 and even tho' it's a bit of a challenge, I can get it into the car. What I really love is the one step process to open it. With others you have to 'lift this, unlock that, fold the front before the back.' Not this one...You pull out the red lever and unfold it. That's it! And it's easy to fold back up. When closed up, it not thick at all.. it uses up very little space.. It's actually quite peppy too. If everyone walks briskly, they can keep up with me. Lol And how cool is the fact that I can charge my phone in the little USB port! My ONLY wish is that it had a tighter turn radius but with all the other pluses...I can live with that. I have several friends who bought a previous model, that is how I was introduced to iLiving. They were so impressed with the customer service and loved their scooters a lot so I looked into the company and found this gem. ... show more

  • Lightweight easily transported Lightweight easily transported
I bought this a couple years ago, because it was lightweight and easy to fold and put in my car. I have limited mobility and this is very convenient to take along. I had the same problem with the plastic piece in the steering column. I replaced the part with a hard rubber faucet washer. That seems to work pretty good, when the washer gets old east to replace. I think The bearing is now bad in the front steering column , so I’m trying to figure out how to replace that. Other than those issues I’m happy with the scooter and would purchase again. Updated. Scooter still working good after 4 years. Regarding steering till issue , I just replaced locking assembly with nut and bolt a few washers and lock washer , now I have no issues. Had to replace seat because it wore out, it can be installed 1 inch back which provides a little more leg room ... show more

  • Best Scooter I ever bought-I living V8 Best Scooter I ever bought-I living V8
This scooter is just so great. I travel a lot via air, ship and car. I can easily lift this scooter in the car-it weighs only 40 lbs and is super easy to fold up! It also goes 15 miles on one charge! I am very happy having bought this fantastic, great looking scooter. I am 88 years old and getting around now is so easy with my new scooter…Thank You iLiving! Oh one more thing, we called customer service to ask a question. They were very nice and knowledgeable about their product ( good to know for the future ;) ) ... show more

  • Has electrical problems
First, I have muscular dystrophy and this is the only scooter that I can still get in and out of my car. It’s the perfect size and weight. However, within the first month of owning the scooter the lights on the control board stopped working. I have no idea how much battery power is left. I emailed customer service and they were unable to resolve the issue. Since everything else still worked, and since this scooter allowed me to get back into the world, I kept it and called it a minor annoyance. However, a year after owning the scooter more electrical issues have sprouted up. Now, sometimes I have to turn it on and off a few times before it starts to work. More troubling, when it does work, the start and stop levers don’t work and the scooter continues to move on its own. Basically, this is a $1,500 a year product. I don’t think it’s built to last longer than that. ... show more

  • Some very good, some glaring bad - iLiving v8
I rarely leave reviews, but felt compelled for an $1800 mobility item for handicapped family members. I will try and break it into sections. I did pretty extensive research before deciding on this one. Purpose of purchase - Mother and Father in Law, mother has CHF and cannot walk long distances, FIL has extensive nerve damage in legs making walking very challenging, and we were traveling to DIsneyworld. Portability/travelability - Candidly, we were looking for something that folds up, and this certainly has that covered, 5+++ stars for the thought that went into it. You can fold with one hand, honestly. The "suitcase" handle however, is poorly designed for this, it should have been made of metal all the way from bracket to handle, and it only extends about 8 inches, making it very challenging for someone like me (6ft 1in) to tow by hand. I am also concerned about breaking it. Weight-wise, this definitely weighs MORE than 50lbs with batteries loaded, so checking it with luggage will cost you more if you keep batteries locked in, but our airport experience was quite good. FIL drove it from check in to gate, through security, and then at gate it was checked like a stroller, only requiring him to remove batteries and take them on the plane. As for lifting it onto buses at Disney or wherever needed, there really is not a "good" place to grab it to lift, but it is not unmanageable to lift into a car or onto a bus deck at all. Considering how much standard scooters weigh, this is truly portable. Usability - this is a no-frills device, which honestly is fine as it is meant to be portable. The unit functioned well, and we could have hooked a cell phone mount to the handlebar or even a fan if we wanted. They were very thoughtful with the USB port on the side. The light was serviceable at best. As for driving, the turning radius is not great at all, but you get used to it. We found the speed fine, but I am sure some more expert drivers would want this thing to fly around better, but again, that is not it purpose. One really jarring issue is the start/stop - most if not all scooter I have experienced have some small amount of roll to the stop. this thing STOPS. Dead. So it is a little tough to get used to that when in people traffic, you really cannot feather it too well. Sturdiness - my mom is about 150lbs, and my FIL is about 215lbs. Neither felt unstable on this ever. Neither of them we were worried about falling out or tipping, and we did NOT purchase the available armrails. However, there was one glaring exception, noted below. Range - it lists 13 miles to a charge, but I would guess that also depends on what speed you are driving. I can tell you that the battery life we experienced was excellent, and on a couple of occasions, we forgot to charge the night before, and it was fine for a second full day driving all over the place, up hills, over cobblestones, etc. Fit and Finish - here is where the main issues arise. First - our unit arrived broken, the small plastic cup that serves as the spacer for the tiller (handlebar vertical piece) that allows for pressure to keep the handlebar up or down. This is clearly a known issue because, when I called the company, she knew exactly the part I was talking about before I even barely explained it. To their credit, they had a new piece out to me in a week, but same cheap plastic. Which leads to #2 - this handlebar adjustment is non-existent because this piece breaks easily, and even when trying to play the game of "how tight should I make this" the handlebar will NOT stay up. It will slide down, either on its own, or the first or second time the user stands up and puts any pressure on the handlebars. I am going to try and retrofit a bicycle's removeable axel parts with rubber bushings to try and make this work, but this is almost a deal breaker for a mobility device. #3 - within 5 days, the key ignition had lost its set bolt inside the control panel. So, I had to take apart the whole control panel and re-add the bolt to the backside. I am handy, most people are not, and I had to get a ride to a store to buy some tools to do this as I was in Disney. There is no reason this would or should happen besides poorly tightened at factory. No one was rough with the key and turning it, no children played on this device. Overall - I still would recommend this device as a sub-$2000 totally foldable, towable by hand scooter, and one that can navigate an air trip from checkin to pickup at your destination. The others I reviewed looked either downright cheap, or were $3000. I am likely to contact iLiving again and utilize the 30 day warranty to see about getting a new one with a better affixed ignition, and possibly a reworked handlebar adjuster clamp. Perhaps they will give me some $$ back for the work I had to do it, although I doubt that. Still, willing to give the benefit of the doubt. ... show more

  • The Best Scooter I've Owned!
I have had my iLiving v-8 scooter for 15 months now and I love it! It's fun to ride and easy to maneuver. It is the easiest to operate, fold up and transport of the 4 scooters I have owned. I've taken it on multiple flights without a problem. There are a couple of design flaws but they are minor: First, on bumpy terrain the batteries sometimes shake loose, which causes the scooter to come to a dead stop. Fortunately that hasn't happened to me in the middle of a cross walk! I decided it would help to use the key that locks the batteries in place and leave them locked. But even with that precaution there have been a couple of times the batteries have still disconnected. I then have to turn the scooter off, push the batteries back down into place and turn the scooter on again. An inconvenience but not serious. The second problem has to do with locking the batteries in place to prevent theft. The manual indicates that is the purpose of using the key to lock them in place. But once they are locked in, the key cannot be removed. Which means that anyone could come along and unlock them and take the batteries. So this feature does not actually achieve what it was intended to do. But aside from these 2 small issues the scooter has worked perfectly. I would definitely buy one again! ... show more

  • AWFUL PRODUCT
DO NOT BUY... BUYERS BEWARE... After a year or so this mobility scooter will take off without warning and the only way to stop it is to turn the key off... After that it will refuse to work at all. Also had to glue the key starter back into the hole.
