The ILAVIE Espresso machine is decent given the price. Not the best, but nowhere near the price of your average espresso machine and not even close to the cost of a professional espresso maker. The machine looks nice, but is really light. The water tank holds enough for a few cups of espresso, which is fine. The top of the machine gets a little warm to prep your espresso cups to a warmer temperature. The steamer works fine. The portafilter has a 1 and 2 cup option that is easily swapped out, but it's a very basic portafilter. I have some trouble loading the portafilter into the espresso machine, since the machine itself is so light. I find myself really forcing the machine in place, as it tends to move the whole machine when you try to fit it into the lock position. I do wish it fit into the lock position better. The bottom tray is removable if you want to use a larger cup. Cleaning is easy, but make sure you wipe down the area where you put the portafilter because coffee grinds tend to stick there. Once the grounds dry, you will have a lot of little dried coffee grounds everywhere. Overall, it makes a very average cup of espresso, but this is what I expected for the price. Still fun to use!

This frother is awesome! I recently purchased a latte/espresso maker but it didn't come with a separate frother and using a measuring cup didn't work. This tiny little frother is more than essential. It's crafted for this specific function, it's a must have for making a drink with frothed milk. The spout is specifically made for this function, it pours smoothly and nothing dribbles or spills or runs down the side. It keeps the milk cold and holds quite a lot. There are measurements on the inside of the frother to ensure you're not overdoing it with the milk. You can hold the handle while you're frothing the milk and the handle doesn't get hot in your hands. When pouring it perfectly allows you to pour the milk and then pour the froth onto the top layer of foam into your coffee. The amount of foam varies by how long you decide to froth it, in the photos (hot latte) I chose to not froth for a long time and that's why you can see a thin layer of froth, but you can opt for more at your own discretion. But I'm so glad I found this little thing, it helps greatly when making lattes. It also cleans really well, sometimes I'll just run it under the tap with very hot water and it cleans up well, I also placed it inside my dishwasher and it faired well.

This pitcher is labeled by the seller to be used to froth milk for espresso drinks, and it works quite well for that task. But it’s also versatile enough to have many other uses in the kitchen – just use your imagination. I find it’s perfectly suited for holding small portions of a warm sauce. The spout makes it easy to pour a hollandaise over eggs, or a reduced red wine pan sauce over a rare filet. Need to drizzle a stream of egg into a pan of hot stock for egg drop soup? This little jug has you covered. What’s not a good use for this pitcher? I do not recommend using it like a measuring cup. Yes, it has embossed measuring lines on the inside – in both ounces and milliliters – and it does hold roughly 12 ounces. But the emphasis in that sentence is on the word “roughly.” I used two different standardized measuring cups to check the accuracy of the lines demarking ounces. This little pitcher failed. It failed miserably. As you can see from the photo, exactly 4 ounces of milk falls short of the 4-ounce measurement line in the pitcher. The same was true for 6-, 8-, and 12-ounces. Those little measurement lines might serve as a general guide for you – and are probably better than just “eyeballing” the amount of liquid. But you shouldn’t rely on them being accurate. Consider the measurement lines the same way many drivers regard Italian traffic rules: “Sono solo un suggerimento.” (They are only a suggestion.)

I really like this item but it's small... When you froth your milk it feels like the milk is going to come up over the sides and out of the container. It's nice but small. I recommend it if you don't use much milk in it. Otherwise you might want to get a larger one

We use this to froth milk on our espresso machines steam wand. We have several sizes and although you might think the bigger ones are better, this size and shape tends to produce the best results for microfoam. Because of its narrow shape and size, it allows the circulation of the milk to produce a nice foam and also to heat the milk quickly which is the key to getting a good foam. The unit is decent, it could be a tad thicker grade of steel but its a medium thickness which is sufficient for most uses.

Color: Bright Silver-Thicker Size: 12 oz. First off, I have to say that I have no idea whatsoever what the difference is between most of these pitchers. Obviously, you can select measurement in either milliliters or ounces. That's good that they offer those choices. I would also assume that the ones that indicate 'thicker' are probably a little thicker than the ones that don't indicate such, but I really don't know that for sure. It's the different notations about the silver colors that I can't for the life of me figure what the differences might be. Mine, the 'Bright Silver' just looks to me like a regular stainless steel pitcher. Nothing extra shiny about it. Even the photos on the product page all look the same. I'm clueless about the different categories, short of measurement style. This pitcher is just right to use with my espresso machine. I already have one with a goose neck spout, which I really like, but the spout sometimes gets in the way while steaming my cream or milk. Not an issue with this one. Pours well and holds just the right amount of liquid for my needs. Feels comfortable in the hands. Good for all kinds of uses for when you need a small pitcher.
