  • Wow! Awesome Color Changing Super Loud High Quality Speaker!
The media could not be loaded. I've always wanted to get a JBL speaker, but I came across this one and figured I'd try it out. My brother has a JBL and wanted to see the quality of the speaker and he was highly impressed (he has a JBL Charge 5) and he even said it was even louder than his speaker, and I didn't even put it all the way on high! I really like the sound quality of this Bluetooth speaker, and I like how aesthetically appealing it is. I really liked the battery life for this speaker, after the first initial charge (about 4-5 hours), it lasted me all day being on in the background and about 12-14 hours later is when it said it had a low battery. It was on a pretty high volume too the whole time, so I really like how long the battery did last. I like all the features that are available on this speaker. It has a FM radio in it, if you just wanted to hear the radio instead (which really isn't common in most bluetooth speakers out there now). I really like all the different light modes that this speaker does just to sync with which vibe your in, and also you have the option to just turn off all the lights and have it just as a speaker. It's defiantly bigger than a JBL Charge 5, it may look heavy, but it really isn't that heavy. I like that in the back where the rubber stopper/sealer covers where you charge it and where you put in any adapters, etc., that the rubber is really thick, and you can see the quality craftsmanship that went into making this speaker be very durable to uphold with it's splash-proof technology. I haven't got it wet yet, and I'm waiting to take it down to the pool when it gets warmer, but I can really say for the price of this item being less than the name brand smaller speakers out there, this is a really good find, and it also has an awesome light show that you can just have to enhance your music experience. (I attached a video for you to check out the different settings a closer look up of it). It says you can do karaoke on it, but you have to get your own mic and memory to put in the back of the speaker, which I haven't tried out yet, but there are just so many cool features on this speaker, you will have jealous friends after they see it! (mine were) I really liked that it does come with a remote, because you know how annoying it can be when you need to change the song and your on your phone, etc., well just keep this out and let whoever wants to be DJ just hit next, and you're good to go. The only complaint that I would have about this speaker, is that on the remote there is not a power on option? I couldn't find it in the manual, and it doesn't appear to be a key on the remote. It's not that big of a deal, because you can just walk up to the speaker and press the power button, but just found it odd it wasn't on the remote. Other than that, I have no complaints, concerns or anything to address with this iHome Bluetooth Boombox speaker. I am 100% satisfied with this speaker and will defiantly be using it all the time! I will end by saying that my brother wanted to trade me his JBL for this one, but I said no, because this is too cool! Definitely a great gift for students, really anyone that listens to music and loves to be by the water. I give this 5-stars! ... show more

  • Anemic for a "Boombox". Overall tuning muffled and a bit harsh in the mids.
For $79.99 at time of review, this speaker is within $10 of a MUCH better speaker, the MLove A200. I will go over that in a bit. The lights are fairly bright, with a dizzying amount of light mode choices. Some that pulse, some that just blend colors of the rainbow, some that flash and some that go in circles to the music. I give it an extra star for the people who want RGB goodness. There is a lot there. On to the sound, against the MLove A200 ($89.99) it sounds like a toy. The A200 sounds SO mature, at all volume levels. It retains almost all of it's bass even at max, and there is plenty of bass there. The iBT920 sounds very anemic, especially at lower volume levels. It starts to sound fuller at max, but never really gets any meaningful bass for it's size. (I have the Dolphin LX90 in the pic because it used to cost around $90, but I get back to my computer and see that they raised it to $120.) The iBT920 is missing treble clarity and sounds boxy and muffled against the A200. It's not the worst tuning I have heard, it's just not great, especially against the A200. The MLove A200 is THE speaker to beat at it's price point. I have never heard anything have THIS much bass, but also have subtlety. It beat the JBL Xtreme 2's bass by a mile, going much deeper too. It's my newest go-to speaker if I'm washing dishes or cooking in the kitchen and I don't want to fire up the Partyboxes and make the whole house hear what I'm listening too, but yet still have good sounding full tunes. ... show more

  • A good outdoor option!
Got this to have music in the yard and by the pool, mostly because ti was large and splash-proof. I haven't dunked it but it's still working, so that's good. The lights are an interesting feature if you want to hold your own dance party -- Not very useful for me. Sound quality is good although the bass mix is strange, but it's good enough for party music. I wouldn't hook your fancy turntable up to this and expect faithful sound reproduction, but that's not its intended purpose. Battery life is good but I haven't tested the 15 hour claim. That's far more than I'd need anyway. The included remote is a nice touch so you can keep your phone shaded/cool and still manage volume and track change. Overall -- recommended. ... show more

  • Bangin boombox
I have numerous Bluetooth speakers but was excited to get this unit especially to take to outdoor events where my other speakers don’t pack enough punch. My first impression of this boombox was that it is larger and heavier than I was anticipating; there’s nothing diminutive or subtle about this device. The build quality is also really pretty impressive with a nice industrial look to its design and detail to how the handle is attached to the body. After charging the unit as recommended and powering it on, you’re treated to the sound effects and light show this device was equipped with. The designers obviously had some fun with sound effects for powere on/off as well as some of the other features. There’s also a really fun light show that you can change through several different programs to suit your mood. These features are really unnecessary but they do make this unit a lot of fun and set it apart from other more common speakers. The sound is loud and clear with a button to adjust the bass. The volume is more than adequate for anything I would be looking, even in an outdoor environment. The speaker is capable of a pretty hefty bass, so much that you can feel it with the right song. My only complaint would be that a basic equalizer setting would be nice so that you could adjust the sound bass and treble based on the music type you’re playing. But if you’re looking for a substantial, loud speaker with nice sound, and good battery life, this is a solid choice. ... show more
