But I missed it on car rides and trips to the beach. The strap leaves your hands free to carry other things. I was reluctant to spend the $ on this because, for me $50 is a lot for a cooler. However, when considering that I will be using this item, 365 days a year (I practically live in my car for work), it just made sense given it would be a functional, and consistently used item. When it arrived I fell in love with the colors, which are far more vibrant in person than online. I also was surprised by the size. I wanted something compact enough to tote around without breaking my back, yet deep enough to hold things from everyday lunch, to packing the cooler with stuff for the kids on a day trip, and this is it. The carry strap, (although I didn't think was a huge selling point for me), actually turned out to be a HUGE plus. The adjustable capability is brilliant. ***Yesterday for Mother's Day was the first time I used it. I had it packed from 9am and didn't get home from a family gathering until around 7pm. Everything inside was still cold as if it was in the fridge, and my ice packs were still frozen.*** My family takes lots of trips on the summer (beaches, museums, parks, etc.,) and this is PERFECT for that. Love the color and keeps my stuff cold on long road trips. The only issue I had was opening the cooler on the road. The strap is what locks the cooler closed and I found that occasionally they got a bit stuck so I had to wiggle to get open. Guess that means my stuff is super safe in the cooler!
