My dog found this more comfortable than a traditional e collar. It kept him from licking his wound and he actually came over to have it put on. He kind of liked it actually. It’s easy on/off. My poor little guy had a foxtail stuck under his skin that caused an abscess. The abscess popped and was bleeding. I took him in, and they had to sedate him to find and remove the foxtail. He had a bandage on for a couple days, but after the bandage fell off, I needed a cone of some sort to prevent him from licking his front paw. I love the sunflower design. It was easy to inflate (no pump needed - I used my mouth). Some reviews mentioned that it deflated a bit, which it did, but it wasn’t an issue. It still worked even slightly deflated. And like I mentioned, it’s easy to inflate. I liked that he could use it as a pillow. It seemed much more comfortable than the standard cone the vets office usually provides. I also liked that it didn’t come out in front of his face, blocking his vision. He did have a hard time fitting in his little corners he likes, because it sticks out to the side (but that was to be expected). I felt bad for him, but know it was better than the alternatives (the other “standard” cone, or no cone). I measured his neck, bought the corresponding size, and it fit perfectly. He’s 18lbs, and we got the one for neck 11.8”-16.1” (I believe it was a medium). It was a little loose, and he was able to escape it a couple times, but I still think it was a 5/5. Following surgery my little guy wore an awful hard plastic headcone. Necessary but he was miserable. Found this and it is a thousand times better and soo adorable !!! His stitches were behind his front leg so it works great and he can eat and sleep so much better

The media could not be loaded. **** UPDATE**** So I am updating my review. After much investigating and even thouroughly examining the listing there is in fact no real medium which would be a Medium+. They offer it in the size chart as well as below in the listing but they dont actullay sell it, so if you have a frenchie, boston terrior or similar mid-size dog you wont get a good fitting with this collar. I cant belive I have to return this item AGAIN! In fact Its the 3rd but 2 of this item/brand. They have no real medium. No size for small-medium dogs. I think they must have mis-labled the medium. I got this TINY one first labled a MEDIUM. Odd becuase I have an average 17-18lb dog. Thats very average. As you can see its almost 5 inches short so when the opening shift downward my dog was getting his paw caught in the opening, its just too small, so I order a large, which is huge! I mean, see phots, how on earth can this be normal? The difrence between them is insane. I tried velcroing the large as tight as possible but he would just shake off its so loose. Its my favorite design online but wjhat terrible sizing decisions they have made. The small aslo didnt have a stopper in the air valve and so much would seap out while trying to close it. My dog has has surgery 3 days ago and because of this terrible sizing issue of this item hes going to end up openiong his wound. Luckliy i have an old size small one but he gets heis paw caught in that as well, that why i dont know why they lable a small as medium. What a waste of time and returns they cause. The medium in this item is what normally would be a small or XS. I cant belive I have to retuen a 3rd doughnut and now need to shop and wait for another. It really is designed upside down for best use. Put it on a collar, the vet after surgery put it on so opening was on top. Also put a harness on her and then used a clip to fix the collar to the harness so that it would not spin on an Italian greyhound neck and attaching it to harness she was unable to slide out of it. Much softer than a cone. Holding it back father on her neck she was unable to bite and pop it. Plan to use it for Halloween. It looks like a flower more than a lion. 🦁 ... show more

The lion “costume” part is very cute. The item is easy to blow up and the fit for my dog is perfect. My dog could not lick his hot spots and he is healing now.
