This product is really good and if you go into settings if you are in pc and you test the mic it says that it’s not going very high volume but it is a high quality volume and the person that you are talking to with the mic can hear you and it come set up which is amazing and it very simple all you do is plug in the usb-c cord into the mic and into your pc and there you go it’s all set up. You might have to change your input device for audio if you are on pc but idk if you have to on Xbox or PlayStation because I got it for pc but you might have to for pc. If the light in the mic is red than you are unmuted and if it is off then you are muted. There is a mute button for it on the top of the mic is how you mute. I've been using a set of SteelSeries Arctis 9's for about a year now with my PC. We all know they sound great but about every headset I've ever owned has junk for a mic. I got fed up. Enter the Solocast Plug and play simplicity made even better with apps like SteelSeries since there is no standalone software for this mic and there are no volume controls, just the tap to mute button which is fantastic! An app like SteelSeries sonar will let you adjust the volume, and eq to your hearts content. Maybe the HyperX ngenuity (sp?) app has that also but no point for me personally to use it I really recommend the purchase of a decent mic like this if you stream or just play with a group of friends because the quality is undeniable and no one is going to misunderstand a word ... show more

While it doesn't have any physical volume controls, this can be fixed by downloading software in order to control it, though having the option to turn a knob rather than use software to control my volume would be nice. The mic lets you tap to mute which is useful for gaming or streaming, and the sound quality for the microphone is pretty good though it's nothing out of the ordinary. Plug and Play, sounds is great if you go into microphone settings in windows and change the quality cause the standard quality windows sets is bad. There is no way of adjusting volume on the microphone itself. Which isn't really needed, but could be a good feature. This is the cheaper version of the product so understandable. It's the best microphone I've ever had. I will never buy another microphone again. I never liked standalone mics because they either looked junky or took up too much space but this microphone makes my desk look fancier and just cleaner in general. I've bought a binaural headset from this company before and loved that as well but the mic wouldn't pick up me singing because it was meant for gaming. This microphone picks up every hum sound I make but doesn't pick up my keyboard (unless the sensitivity is up too high). It also picks up from far away I can be across the room and people will still be able to hear me. The microphone quality is honestly amazing especially for the price. I'm also in love with the mute button sensor. Just a tap and it turns my microphone off completely. I never had a single problem with the microphone randomly leaking my voice at all which is great. I don't have a single complaint about this microphone at all. The cord is also long enough to be able to reach the lower usb ports on my pc which I was slightly worried about so if you have a setup the cord length will not be an issue.
